The world is finally gray

There is something remarkably beautiful and epitomic about the newly elected US parliament, with a black man all set to lead the whites, blacks as well as the browns for the first time in the history of the world, sitting in an office which even bears the name of a 'white' house. My comment might have a racist undertone to it, but then, human being by his very instinct is a racist; the essence of human-ness lies in countering his affinity towards racism, as all the elements of nature tend to nurture that very affinity. During our childhood, we used to listen to stories of a utopian world, where a lion and a deer would quench their thirst at the same pond. I am not sure if these stories were purely allegoric, but we seem to have been raised with the notion that a utopia where egalitarianism prevailed could exist only among the lesser creatures, and human beings could only aspire for one forever. For some reason, the inbred racism of human beings and it's deep rooted impact in their everyday lives, was something skipped over in our childhood literature, perhaps for the fear that instead of reflecting the society it could instead manipulate a child's mind for the worse. However, now it looks like there's still hope for humanity; as if this was the whole idea behind nature's classification of human beings as blacks, whites and browns. Perhaps the world can, after all, become a perfect palce to live, after millenia of craving of all its elements. But that should by no means imply it already is one; for it's still only one out of 200 odd countries, and the rest of the lot will still have to face subjugation and tyranny of their mighty master. But, considering the fact that this is the US where only about seventy years ago being black made one nothing but a filthy component of the society born only for slavery and for being undermined in every aspect of the society, it's not very unlikely that somewhere down the line, the colored folks the world over too will receive their fair share of justice and equality.

May god bless the US and bring more sanity to its people. Atiicus Finch's soul can finally rest in peace.

Disclaimer: the writer doesn't reside in the US, hasn't applied for an H1B nor has any plans to do so in near future.

Agreed Harimau. But Idhi 's Mugabe's atrocities didn't have racist grounds. They were political, and hence out of context here. And like I said, it's only one out of 200 odd countries, still it brings hope to entire humanity.

[...it's not very unlikely that somewhere down the line, the colored folks the world over too will receive their fair share of justice and equality.]

You think the "colored folks" in Uganda received justice and equality under Idi Amin? Or in Zambia under Robert Mugabe?

Let the descendants of "colored folks" who actually captured and sold slaves to Arab, British and American slave traders do something about democracy in their own countries first.
