Threats to ban Masadi sb- Kindly protest

Posted: Sep 22, 2009 Tue 11:06 pm     Views: 161    Interacts: 10

The chowkstaff has thru a recent PM threatened to not only ban Masadi sab and his various ids but also to erase all i-logs and comments posted by him and his various aliases.

The text is as follows:

Referring to views of others as BS is derogatory. You can make your point without putting down others.

Your other account was banned after several temporary bans and after you decided to take on another user id instead of following the guidelines.

Your continuous disregard for others is what gets your comments removed.

If you still wish to continue interacting on Chowk please select one user id. And pay close heed to the interact guidelines. Make your points without insulting other members.

If you have objection to certain posts by others you need to flag those posts. That is the process. Please start following it. Instead of name calling.

Consider this the last warning. Next step will be to remove all comments posted by masadi and your other ids.

While I agree with chowkstaff that putting down other interactors who have a diff POV or ascribing ulterior motives is unbecoming on Masadi sb's part- which I have several times pointed out myself- in private conversation this threat to ban and erase Masadi sb's painstaking work is absolutely disgraceful and discriminatory esp when far worse abuse- especially racial, national and faith based insults, abuses and threats are freely bandied about and seldom punished.

You are all kindly requested to join me in protesting against this attack on Masadi sb.

Regards

banning someone is an utter violation of chowk's "unflynching idealism". this must be protested and chowk should be saved from chowk staff. it is a tragedy when the chowkidars of freedom of thought become its decoits

This has to go in the "different POV hall of fame"-RiazHaq sahab has shown up on an ilog supporting Masadi sahab.

Now that's commendable.

Those who red flag posts, should be displayed along with the flag...and for Paki muslas, the color should be changed......

while i do not support the banning any one from posting, the manner of masadi sb's writing is absolutely insufferable. i no longer read his posts at all. so if it is, as someone once said to me, that we write because we wish to communicate, masadi sb might as well not bother.

it would be one thing if he was being discriminated against - as in someone else expressing himself/herself much like him but getting no reaction from chowkstaff. this does not seem to be the case.

i think it is about time masadi sb grew up; otherwise - chowk is just small fish - where he might end up in real life ought to be a matter of much bigger concern for him.

Thanks to all of you for your support. Although I disagree with Masadi sb on many issues, it wud be a tragedy if a diff POV is silenced.

Presence of flambouyant interactors and intellectuals like M.Asadi are inevitable to promote 'unflinching idealism' and diversity.

Chowk guidelines don't make much sense until the perception of discriminatory and unfair management prevails amongst the web community.

My support is there. Thanks for bringing it up.

Mr. MAsadi might be aggressive but he makes a lot of sense sometimes. It will surely be a shame if this happens. He has my vote.

They must settle the issue peacefully before all REAL writers leave Chowq and all they are left with are wild interactors.
