Help me understand this..

When a Pakistani is bashing India, it's really India and the Indians he/she is 'bashing' (majority of the time) but when an Indian does the same, it's almost always Islam this, Muhammed that and Allah and Quran and so on. Why can't they keep religion out of it? I'm sure there are a lot of Indians beyond the caliber/class/metal/intellect/character of people that sit around on Chowk and uselessly point out the shortcomings of Pakistan and Pakistanis and Islam, I haven't seen those yet though.

'Madressahs' here mean Mullah training camps, like those searched day before yesterday and were hiding Afghan Mullahs and AK47s.

Don't blame the Quran, blame the interpretation.

As for your claims of Zia being a Saudi puppet, you never know. Money can buy anything, ending up in a blazing airplane is priceless.

####The Madressah culture is owed to the likes of Gen. Zia and other Islamists that have interpreted the faith to their fancy and convenience.#####

Madersa means educational institution or school in arabic language. Established in 859, Jamiat al-Qarawiyyin, Morocco, is considered the oldest madrasah in the Muslim world. They have been churning out children of faith based on quranic themes ever since - why blame Zia ul Haque who was just one more pawn in the Saudi chess format.....

Skeptical: I don't know if stereotyping all Pakistani Chowkies and Indian Chowkies will lead to anything. I will conclude this at; those who ramble their days away at Chowk have possibly nothing better to do, they sit around here and create iLogs after iLogs to prove some trivial point which is beyond my comprehension and concern. The Indians that might be more tolerant of Muslims and Pakistanis might (again) be busy with a life, owing to proper education; which helps one decide a purpose a lot earlier in life.

PakDoc: I will have to agree and disagree. As Pakistani Muslims, we too have put our Hindu minority through enough abuse, torture and have, for a fact, made them feel unwanted, worthless and targeted. But then, every minority in every setup faces similar subjection. As a part of a secular minority myself, I'm glad I'm in a position to keep the almighty, 'correctly-guided', 'all-knowing', 'true Muslim' majority at bay.

I can totally see where you point about everyone deeming themselves of golden standards and the epitome of truthfulness is coming from.

AmbiBambi; I have not edited your posts. Feel free to re-post. The 'form' your interact has mysteriously adopted does still make sense, at least to me.

Islam is not at all about killing, jihad, murder and sodomizing little boys in Madressahs. The Madressah culture is owed to the likes of Gen. Zia and other Islamists that have interpreted the faith to their fancy and convenience.

Nkg: The creation of Pakistan was based on the Two Nation Theory, two nations being Hindus and Muslims, being Muslim by faith does not award me the right to represent Islam. I can not; I have shortcomings a plenty. I wouldn't term Hinduism cancerous just because of some shortsighted Muslim hating Hindus, I would look beyond the fault and blame the cause, it's not Hinduism, in my opinion it's mostly politics and ego.

asad, it is not just on chowk...this attitude is present in many hindus of india..... the communal riots perpetuated by hindu fanatics, torching and desecrating mosques and churches... terrorizing minorities within india, openly claim that their actions are justified as these religions convert the hindus...... mostly low-castes...who are fed up of the religious caste-system and attracted towards islam and christianity, that provides them respect and equality....

thus, the hindu animosity towards these religions, the faith in God,His prophets etc...

fanatism and extremism...be it religious or secular..results in violence..... intolerance is the problem......secular extremist are intolerant towards religious customs eg.an egyptian hijabi in germany was murdered in court by a secular extremist....same is true for religious extremists....

everyone wants to enforce their views on others...considering themselves as gold standard of virtue and truth..

err...ASADALY. not sure if you edited my previous comment, but the form it is in right now makes no sense:)

Just like you would feel Hinduism is "mis-represented" by these concepts, similarly Muslims feel Islam is not about killing etc.

skeptical...
what do you mean by less hostile? these are the very same people who support islam, jihad, killing etc....at the end of the day, indians will forget, but will the paki muslas forget islam, jihad, violence etc?
i feel no...it will surface in the opportunate moment....

Most of the Pakistanis who come to chowk are of slightly liberal bent and that is why they are relatively less hostile. On the other hand most of the Indians who come to chowk are rightwingers and consequently they are more hard on Pakistan and Islam.
Having said so, this does not mean that on the whole Indians are more harsh. In fact it is the other way around. However in chowk things are different due to ideology wise composition pattern of Indians and Pakistanis

I agree that this group of people is not a representative of the Indians on the whole. People who have never come out of their small shells and experienced life on a larger scale are bound to have a limited vision.

asadali...
Pakistan is the cancerous resulted form consumption of Islam for couple of centuries...so, Islam is the cause and Pakistan is the result...
Will it not be wise to attack the cause than the effect?
