Hello is claimed to be a salutation or greeting of English language which has been traced to be used in publication as early as 1833. Its use became extensive in literature by 1860s. Hello is mused to be derivative of word “hullo” which was found in publications as early as 1803. The word “hello” had now replaced the common greeting of “good day” or “good morning”, which was previously used abundantly to bless any person encountered.
An alternate theory about meaning of the word “hello” is that is derived from the word “hell” and literally is a curse greeting, ignorantly used by people who do not know what they mean by the word.
Interestingly, I recently heard a hadith about the last hour quoted in durr-emansoor,
In the Last Days, there will be such people, who, when they meet, curse and abuse each other instead of greeting (with salaam or blessing).
(Allama Jalaluddin Suyuti, Durre-Mansoor)
I do not know about the authenticity of this hadith or its source nor am I sure about the authenticity of the alternate interpretation of the word “hello”. Any opinions?

The earliest record of 'hollo', from which the word 'hello' derivates, is found in Andrew Boorde's 1542 book "A compendious regyment or a dyetary of helth". In the book, it is presented as 'holowynge'.
Many different languages use an equivalent expression which sounds similar often either starting with an "h" or having a "l" sound. Examples would be Russian "алло" (pronounced as 'allo'), Spanish "hola", and Thai "haloo".
It should be noted that if some of these languages imported the English word to use it as a greeting on attending the telephone, several others have their own specific origin for the word, as with Portuguese "olá" and Spanish "hola", both probably of Arabic origin, German "hallo" and Hungarian "hallom".
with true intention of its meaning :)
it hardly matters what you say if the intentions are vicious and Islamic.
A mullah doc saying 'Assalaam' to kafir like me with an evil eye on his 20 percent booty that he can stake claim on my belongings is the most disgusting thing.
any one who thinks that things like 'Salaam' or 'Mashas' or 'Inshas' matters most forgets that it is the intention that matters most and not one says in words to others.
all one can do is educate as many ppl as one can...
as-saam -a-laikum instead of salaam or as salaam o alaikum...meaning death be on u or go to hell or something like that..
Most do it unknowingly, but its still bloody annoying!
