the sombre, dark lull of
this abandoned glade...

a tiny breeze,
pussyfoot approaching...
from nowhere coming, to
nowhere silently sneaking

the musical silence,
with small noises around...
hunkered down sitting,
on green damp grass

towering trees, in a circle
around...quiet in shadows...
like dark pillars, with olive
foliage in the moonlight...

shiny dark sky, rimmed by
the tree tops... an indigo
expanse, dotted with many
dots of silver, points of gleam

the sombre, dark lull of
this abandoned glade...

the full moon, shimmering
in all its ornate modesty...
with sharp edges, and its
brilliance sieving...

with turned palms resting, on
dewy cool grass...soft blades;
recent and sprouty...
clothing the brown bod below...

arching back, with
the head in a tilt...
idling thoughts, sensing all...
and feeling the still encircling
