Sab ki khair

Writer Ashfaque Ahmad writes"

"Four or five days ago I happened to go to the Mayo Hospital. There, while waiting for my turn at the Cancer ward, I met a really nice lady from a village; she had a pretty face and was very well mannered. I asked her why she was there. She told me that she had cancer and she was a regular visitor for Chemotherapy. She said that it was a very painful procedure but "I always thank Allah for His blessings. When I wake up early in the morning I pray for the whole humanity. Our grandmothers used to pray like that. May God bless them all. Then I pray that may Allah bless Pakistan and then I say may Allah bless the rulers of Pakistan." The journalist in me compelled me to ask her why did she pray for the rulers because they were the worst people there were. She said "Bha Ji rulers are necessary too because there is no other way a nation can pull through. I just pray that may Allah compensate for their shortcomings and show them the right way. I do pray for them."

What a profound and astute observation. Compared to that lady, I always wish our rulers, their progeny, and their cohorts death and destruction. I always pray that may all of them rot in deepest abyss of hell. I have no soft corner, no mercy, and no compassion for our fouj, the politicians, and the ruling elite. I wish they all be lined up against the wall be shot. They stole my country from me. They stole the time I would have had with my parents my siblings, my family and my friends. A life devastated. A time lost, that will never come back. I wish I were not callous like that. I just can't get my heart around to say that "Allah sab ki khair ho". How do I cleanse my heart from this venom. Is there a chemo for that too..

Thank you viqarm; great piece of advice. I want to help the oppressors; and according to Holy Prophet (pbuh) the best way to help an oppressor is by making him stop his oppression. I think it will need patience of Prophets to think about the welfare of that who oppresses you.

Just ask yourself if there would be a day when you would want nothing better than for God(SWT) to Forgive you; and He(SWT) Asks you if you frogave others whom you could have forgiven.

Imam Amad inn Hanbal(RA) was tortured so severely for his stance on certain Islamic issues, that both his shoulders were dislocated. People would often ask him: Why don't you pray for God(SWT) to Punish those who did this to you? His reply: What benefit/happiness can I possibly get out of seeing other humans being tortured on my account?
