Dream Ticket - Hillary VP ...

Nightmare ticket is more like it, and it ain't happening.

The most common motive in seeking the VP slot is that it's a stepping stone to the presidency. If she's Obama's running mate, and Obama wins, she will have to wait for eight years to run for president again. She'll be too old. Therefore, if she gets on the ticket, it's very likely that she'd be secretly rooting for McCain. Obama must know this and wouldn't want a fifth-column running mate.

There is one precedent in modern history where someone sought the vice-presidency as their terminal political job -- Darth Vader, aka Dick Cheney. I think that Cheney took the job so he, the one with the phone-book-sized resume, could guide (detractors would say manipulate) the neophyte president. The last few weeks of the Clinton campaign have taught us that Hillary Clinton is not far behind Cheney in some key traits required for the mentor-VP job: cynicism, ruthlessness and the missing shame/embarassment gene. Clinton insiders are telling reporters that the Clintons see Obama as a deeply flawed candidate, and they insist on sticking it out to save the party and the country from Obama's shortcomings. If that is true, one can imagine Hillary Clinton making the sacrifice and taking the VP slot and taking President Obama under her tutelage. This would make for another Cheney-Bush type drama, with Bill Clinton thrown into the mix. I think Obama would prefer to be water boarded than subjected to a Clinton-induced paralysis.

Finally, what the f** does Hillary bring to the table? Her racist vote is not going to come to Obama just because she's his running mate. They're going to vote McCain anyways. Obama is going to carry NY with or without her help. He's much better off going with someone from a swing state with strong patriot credentials. Vice President Webb????
