How about more personal stories on Chowk?

Since becoming a Chowkie I've seen no shortage of political and religious opinions, which is fine by me, but there are only a few of us who talk openly about our own lives, both present and past situations and experiences. I'd really like to know more about other members of this site though I concede that some may be reluctant to enable themselves to be identified by their family, relatives, friends, work colleagues etc - it does rather blow one's Chowkie name cover. But there are surely at least some more who can tell us something about their domestic/family situations or, for example, their formative experiences of life as I've been trying to do in my own recent blogs, causing some interesting reaction, even amusement, but I don't mind. Of course the possibility of taunts and ridicule is also there, though I've discovered that Chowkies are, in the main, a big-hearted and sympathetic lot. Although it's not always easy I find the experience of writing about one's own life is quite cathartic. I'm really interested in hearing more personal stories directly from, in particular, the Indian sub-continent, Africa and the U.S.A.
Am I asking too much - or just too damn nosey?

Hey khaki,

in fact I've been thinking about writing such a piece and even outlined it last week. Mayhaps I just may write it :)
