A matter of nationality or something more meaningful?
Topic started by Salim_Chauhan on Jun 27, 2009 12:35:11 pm
Now that the desi diaspora is well over 50 years old, there are numerous 3rd and 4th generation Americans, Canadians, Brits, and even Australians of Indian and Pakistani ancestry.
My question is whether these people really consider each other as compatriots - i.e. fellow-Yanks, Canadians, Brits, and Aussies?
Regardless of the answer, it is a matter of irony that people who couldn't bear to live with one another in the same country are now, once again, sharing a common nationality.
