All about restoration

Posted: Apr 15, 2008 Tue 02:36 am     Views: 282    Interacts: 5

This Friday Times cartoon best capture the restoration hysteria that has engulfed our country.
First it was about restoring the judiciary, then the politicians ask for restoration of Lal Masjid Khateeb (yeah, the same cleric who ran away in a black Burqa) and now some of them (read PM Gilani, Senator Enver Baig and MNA Hanif Abbasi) want to restore Shoaib Akhtar!

Oh i dont think our future is dependent on restoration of judiciary. Our nation suffers from collective amnesia. It is the same judiciary which was labelled as one of the most corrupt before March 9th 2007, and is now termed at holier than thou.

our future as a country on country is dependent on far more basic things such as availability of food. World Bank has listed Pakistan as one of 36 country facing acute food shortage and riots because of that.
We have seen that in Karachi last year and in Multan this year where people are rioting for electricity. Rioting for food is next.

I think we should't compare the restoration of juduciary with other two bcz its a national issue and our future depending on this issue

The Shoaib Akhtar part I dont get at all. He needs to restore some good reputation to his good name for starters.
