meethi eid mubarak to chowk + light matters

KESC needs crutches. No one is even dreaming of providing just a spoonful of nuclear energy for peaceful purpose.Such as running a “switch electricity generating machine, while the big “plant, peacefully rests during its load shedding phases.Or if the big “plant, blows up or breaks down in a large manner as so often happens.Well the dream of providing alternative energy seems quite plausible in comparison.Provided free. What a dream! The next best thing to do is to provide this available energy to the KESC, at low rates or subsidised, through efforts of government as stand alone helper, or in cooperation with a private enterprise or groups of heterogenous private enterprises taken as a single group. The “energy is bio-fuel.
Each KESC power plant caters to a large bit of urban area. This area is dotted over by numerous “yellow and black stripe tailedgarbage dumps. This is our bio-fuel.This is our dream;all our garbage dumps are filled daily, without fail, and the beauty of it is that they are never empty. So “short supply is an unknown term here. You can dream on, with the Govt/Govt.and pvt/pvt provided collecting systems, vehicles, crew, separators neatly collecting the garbage and making a bee-line for the nearest KESC needy plant, on demand and supply basis. Most of the KESC units I have seen have sizeable compounds, so if the G/G&p/p enterprises invest in a storage unit+bio-gas making unit, it will be a profitable investment.Even in the short run.And in times of emergency the KESC supply plant can be run confidently on bio-gas.
Then, one more thing. If the residents agree, to get their garbage, privately collected for free, then a colossal quantity of bio-fuel can be had. Only a G/G&p/p entrepreneurship would be required to collect all that garbage and supply KESC with it.
If a come along s/- can be given to the manual garbage collectors, scavenger, sorters, re-cyclable walas, it will break their monopoly on the garbage dumps of course. But then they will find greater amount of work and also work as a team. How this will fit in the general scheme of things is yet to be seen. And it should be seen, now is the time.
