Prophet Moses Had Scrotal Hernia! A stone ran away with his clothes

Posted: Nov 10, 2008 Mon 08:30 pm     Views: 619    Interacts: 2

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, 'The (people of) Bani Israel used to take bath naked (all together) looking at each other. The Prophet Moses used to take a bath alone. They said, 'By Allah! Nothing prevents Moses from taking a bath with us except that he has a scrotal hernia.' So once Moses went out to take a bath and put his clothes over a stone and then that stone ran away with his clothes. Moses followed that stone saying, "My clothes, O stone! My clothes, O stone! till the people of Bani Israel saw him and said, 'By Allah, Moses has got no defect in his body. Moses took his clothes and began to beat the stone." Abu Huraira added, "By Allah! There are still six or seven marks present on the stone from that excessive beating."

Ok..I don't know how much of Arabic language you speak. But just to clarify it, Prophet Moses(PBUH) did not have the Scrotal Hernia. In the idiomatic language of Jews, that was the language expression of Bani Israel, Since Moses was the Chosen Prophet of God, it was his Modesty and Virtue that he would not appear naked in front of other man, which is also prohibited in islam. But since taking the bath naked was a normal parctice among Bani Israel, they frowned and wondered why Moses(Musa) PBUH takes a bath alone and their assumption was it must be some oddity or a physical defect(in this case Sroctal Hernia)that he is trying to hide from us. And Just to put the mind of Bani Israel at ease that event took place by the will of Allah so Bani Isreal would stand corrected.
