One forty eight

I can now make a bold prediction based on my observations in Pakistan. In four years Taliban will control the North West Frontier Province. I base this on the simple fact that Pakistan is unable to provide its citizens of the basics. Water and electricity, the focus here is not service but each individual is saying "what can I get and how can I get it without paying for it." The reason why the taliban will win is because they have a plan, they are organized and god knows where they are getting their funding from, where ever it is it is more reliable then the US dollars that are occasionally thrown towards the Pakistani Government. Also I am not sure what that Pakistan uses the money for. This war does not require F15's it requires intelligence and planning. Brute force will only end up in more underground warfare. I also take back my previous assertion that Pakistanis abroad can help Pakistan. I think there are lots of individuals in Pakistan who are not sharing their wealth. They are perfectly capable of making parks creating the infrastructure from the ground up. It is not happening because of individuals who are in survival mode, busy protecting and growing their own wealth. Take a walk in defense and you will see million dollar homes, without electricity humming on generators, outside there are armed guards protecting god knows what. You would think that these homes have enough gold buy Fort Knox.
My stomach is still turning, more from what I read in the news and read on the walls. Watch TV and you get these quacks who pretend to have religious knowledge and answer questions from the callers, my favorite was the caller who said he has bad thoughts during prayers and that Satan is pushing him in the wrong path. The mullana asked do you have these thoughts in Ramazan also, the caller replied even more so. To which the Mullana said that then it can't be Satan, because during Ramazan Satan is inactive and jailed.
I went to KFC today, the place was packed, last night we tried to get into a nice restaurant, Chandni Lounge there was a huge line up, couldn't get in. Frankly this time around the food has been disappointing in Karachi, maybe I just had higher expectations.
From KFC I could watch the Riksha walla's waiting for their next fare, in 40+ degrees they were waiting for an hour and no fare. I know from personal experience what that is like, you are sitting waiting in line, thinking I could be somewhere else making money, but if nothing much is happening in the economy then you are just burning fuel driving around. Waiting for an hour in defense means you might get a decent fare.
There is not much to do in Karachi for kids, first of all the heat forces us all to be indoors during the daytime, in the evening there is a short window to go outdoors, and the places are packed. Take a kid to McDonalds’ play land or the beach that is about all I have been able to come up with. If Disney want to make a theme park this is the place to do it, or if some young entrepreneurs’ want to invest some dollars, I say build a theme park in Karachi you will make millions.

Theres a couple of water parks on the outskirts of the city, and a theme park called Go Aish in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
