Pakistan State of Emergency
On November 3, 2007 General President Pervez Musharraf declared state of emergency in Pakistan. The reasons provided were increase in terrorist attacks, strong hold of extremists and non cooperation of supreme court in matters of national security. Several Judges, politicians, media employees, and students have been arrested. Media ban has been put in place banning all TV channels other than state run PTV.
