I am a Civil Engineer by profession. Took my B.Sc., Civil Engineering, from the Punjab University, Lahore (Lahore College of Engineering and Technology) in 1956. Took my DIC and Ph.D, (Hydraulics), from the University of London (Imperial College of Science and Technology) in 1970. Published research in open channel hydraulics, erosion and sedimentation in river channels, stable alluvial canals, flood routing, etc. Received J.C. Stevens Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers, in 1990. Taught at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, and part time at the Iowa Institute of Hydraulic Research, University of Iowa, Iowa City, and at the Wayne State University, Detroit.
Also worked on the construction of the Warsak Dam in Pakistan, 1956-60, and with WAPDA, Barrages Directorate, 1960-61.
