Is This Why the Jews Are Disliked by Other Religions?

I think the whole issue has not been understood properly.The first mistake was by the writer who while presenting the issue just mention the one side of the picture.Jews like all other communinities on earth comprised of heterogenous people good, moderate and bad. Same is the case with Muslims.No doubt, the issue of Palestine has alot to do with muslims feelings but there are so many places where Jews and muslims are working to gether and doing well.The hatered that is prevailing in the world against Jews is because their sense of supiriority which they derive from their regious beliefs.

For the Palestinians, it may be a political dispute, but for other Muslims, it IS a religious dispute and their support for the Palis stems from the fact that they are Muslims (at least overwhelmingly so) under non-Muslim (Jewish) occupation. Where Muslims are the perpetrators against Muslims (as in Darfur, Sudan or B`desh in 1971) or if the victims are non-Muslims (Hindus in Bangladesh), there isn`t so much as a squeak from the Ummah.

[Muslims of at least 1 strong muslim country viz. Turkey have proven that they don`t hate Jews.]

Doesn`t say much when you have only one example (4% of the entire Muslim population) to show. FYI, the Muslim population in the year 2003 stood at around 1704.03 million (http://www.islamicpopulation.com/world_islam.html) and Turkey`s population was 69.6 million (http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/tu.html).

It may not be comparable with India, but Pakistan has fare share of successful Parsees.

1) Behram Avari is the owner of biggest chain of hotels in Pakistan (Avari Hiltons) and have an Avari hotel in Dubai also. Mr. and Mrs. Avari gave Pakistan our 1st gold medal in Yatching (Asian Games 1978). The gold medal inspired many young Pakistanis to take to Yatching and win many golds in later Asian Games.

2) Ardesher Cowasjee: is known more as a critic and less as a successful businessman. Thanks God, otherwise the rulers would have definitely choked his business.

Actually, Muslims have no grounds to hate Jews and vice versa. This whole hatred has come about due to Isreal-Palestine situation, which we all agree is a political dispute rather than a religious one.

Some points to note:

1. Muslims enjoyed 3 glorious reigns - Caliph Haroon ur Rasheed (Abbasids), Caliph Abd ar Rehman II (Umayyid in Spain) and King Sulayman the Magnificient (Ottoman of Turkey). Jews enjoyed such a good relations with Muslims in these years that they migrated from Europe to these lands.

2. The Israeli-Palestinian dispute was an Israeli-Arab dispute and was always touted as such by the Palestinian leadership. Indeed, it was Christians who provided leadership to the Palestinians. Late Professor Edward Saeed was one such Christian Palestinian. Those of us who graduated from American universities in 70s, 80s and even early 90s would recall heated debates by Israeli and Palestinian students on campuses. Most of these debates were led by Christian Palestinian students. Of course, the whole movement was later `hijacked` by extremist Muslims.

3. Learned Muslim scholars like Maulana Asrar Ahmad of Pakistan have concurred that Muslims should begin dialogue with Jews. Many more scholars are definitely going to come froward and support the dialogue.

4. Muslims of at least 1 strong muslim country viz. Turkey have proven that they don`t hate Jews.
