Typical nonsense article, pro Zionist, racist (considering Jews superior as they do themselves based upon thier ``chosen people`` status) and pro-US elite. This is becomming a pattern here on CHOWK. I submit my articles critical of the US elite, their inhumane behavior and the unjust status quo and the editors don`t publish it even though they are intellectually superior to this garbage. Using the fake pretext of ``Anti-Semitism`` to generate sympathy in UNRELATED causes (like the Israel/Palestine issue) has been perfected by the Zionists who do not by the way represent the vast majority of Jews. The Israel/Palestine issue has nothing to do with anti-semitism, the charge is both historically, ethnically and religiously misguided. The trouble after centuries of peaceful living between the Arabs and the Jews in that area started ONLY after the EUROPEAN (racist) Zionist Jews planned to displace the indigeneous Arabs from their homeland. This is an established histoical fact, read any standard text on the subject, Norm Finkelstein, Avi Shlaim, Benny Morris etc.
This article, apparently written by a self-hating rank racist, who considers Jews superior to his own ethnic group, is using similar tactics. When the Zionists, like the early european settlers have stolen a whole country from the natives, and when they dominate moreso the members of the Power Elite in the US, disproportionately compared to any other minority group and get all kinds of advantages that are denied to south asians and african americans, our author here considers them persecuted. Garbage, plain and simple.
The golden years of Jewery, according to thier own admission, were in Andalusia under Muslim rule. Anti-semitism has its roots in Europe not the Arab or Muslim or South Asian world, get your facts straight. The ancestors of your American masters were the anti-semities not the Arabs or Muslims. Only when the members of the Jewish elite conspired against Jesus and Muhammad was there any backlash. That members of their elite groups conspire in the US against other groups to monopolize advantage for themselves is also a fact, empirically verified by political scientist Domhoff, considering the disproportionate number of the Zionists in the US power elite.
The more I read the kinds of articles the more I confirm that Chowk is a corporate sponsored propaganda site. All the things happening in our parts of the world and they pick the non-issue of imagined ``anti semitism`` to discuss. SHAME on them, all of the editors and shame on the author of this nonsense article

PLEASE ! Stop this bakwaas of ``other religions``
Jews are disliked by muslims and certain extremist christians on ``principle``. No other group has this hateful attitude towards them. This has nothing to do with fighting with an annoying jewish neighbor or other human problems of day-to-day living.
This has to do with hate-filled supremacist ideas embedded in islam and christianity. Christians have made progress with it but muslims are as hateful as ever.
Dont get us involved in your filth. Don`t try to hide behind ``other religions``.

Mehul,
This is a good topic to discuss. The Jews are stereotyped more that any other group of people that I know. My own experience with Jews has been excellent. I have found them extremely cordial, friendly and sincere. Over the years I have been in many social dinners with Jewish friends and also had the opportunity to stay at their house as a guest - interestingly in the affluent neighborhoods of Chicago. I have only good experiences to share.
Sadly, most people dont realize that the old testament is really the Torah and the Christians have had a major problem on religious grounds with the Jews. The muslim-Jewish problem is very minor in comparison.

This article would be much more accurate if `South Asians` is replaced by `Pakistanis/Muslims`
Hindus have nothing against Jews. They have never persecuted Jews (of course not having any historical baggage helps).
In fact they have common interests in a lot of spheres
Thanks,
Avkrishna

I once went to a pass over ceremony at a friend`s family. I remember the stimulating conversation a bunch of us had at the table. I found the folks there well read, articulate and intelligent. It gave me an insight on the value people with jewish roots place on educating themselves. One has to only look at the number of nobel prizes awarded to people of jewish faith/origins to affirm this emphasis on scholarship. Their emphasis on learning and a tight knit community ties stand`s out from the Indian community.
Indians seem to be good at grasping concepts that already exist, Our contribution in terms of original thinking in contemporary times is minimal at best. Indian education is at best superficial and for most part inhibits the individuality that is essential for finding creative ideas.
I`m also skeptical about clubing various cultures from South Asia into one monlithic ``South Asian`` entity. There are more differences than similarities amongst people from the region. I suggest the author refer to people from that region in terms of their National/ethnic identities. Indians/Indian Americans is any day better than ``South Asians``.

The footnote caught my eye.
Indian catholics are as diverse as any other group. South indian catholics tend to be very open and tolerant. However, I had a goan catholic, a bombay jew, a parsi and a lahori for housemates while in grad school. The jew it turns out was particularly insecure (and many years later killed himself and his wife) but it didn`t help that the goan constantly was attacking the jews. I didn`t gain any insight into all this until much later.

jews r a small community......muslims and hindus of south asia r 2 billion...........and so r the christians.....its a small community for jews to menage and hava feeling of unity.....plus as far as international politics is conerned.....they r prickly......i cant say i like jews cuz their kids dont throw eggs on busses.......kids who throw eggs......form gangs, abuse drugs.....are kids in difficult circumstances, muslims or christians they need help and a break....plus, only a handfull of muslims r fundamentalists or fanatics ( thank God!!)......the rest r plain harmless........some clean, some not so clean people.......its unwise to judge a community cuz of one doc.....even robbers and gang memebers who are looters and plunderers are honest to each other and usually dont kill a member of their own gang......that doesnt mean we fall in love with em......cya

You might look at the intersections of class and assimilation as you compare ethnic groups and construct their proclivities towards crime. NYC was puncutated by Jewish gangs of predominantly working class backgrounds-no different from the Irish, the Albanians, the Chinese, or the Russians. You might ask yourself what structures do gangs offer maginalized immigrant youth and find a more accurate understanding of this issue. You also might investigate middle class gang bangers-check the Korean American movie that depicts a group that belongs to the ``Asian American`` minority that identifies itself with violence-its a bit more complex than it seems.
Secondly, conservative Jewish famillies have systems that are predicated on the behavior and movements of their womenfolk. Agreed, in the many generations of Jewish American acculturation, major sections of the Jewish American community have alligned themselves with progressive and feminist causes-but this is gradual and corroborates with most process of assimilation. I dont doubt that every immigrant community is transformed similarly.
Btw, Jewish parents who wanted to protest a daughter or son`s marriage to a gentile, were in American culture, said to ``sit shiva`` for them. In other words, mourn their loss as if the child was deceased.

In the interest of accuracy, the title should read as ,
Is This Why the Jews Are Disliked by Other Religions (apart from hinduism) ?
Hindus got nothing against jews.
