#8 well well, raw paa ji, I did deserve some words of gratitude there, didn`t I? After all, it`s not every day that someone would provide you with a much sought after opportunity to diss and bash Allah - or Islam/Muslas/Mohammad/Koran/religion/faith -for that matter, particularly on a board only remotely related to the question of faith. And you say I got no balls? :(
Religion becomes a toy only for people like you and me...people belonging to the so called higher-class of the society from a monetary or educational point of view...ones who are fortunate enough to be able to `choose` and `experiment`. A poor little boy of three, would desperately need someone to vent his anger and frustration on, someone to curse and complain to for all his shortcomings, or someone to look up to. That`s exactly what he is doing in the story/narration, as nonchalant he is to the `aafaaqi questions` you allege him of asking as he could be . He is just, but oblivious of the idea of choice, not that it matters to him anyway.
And speaking of contentment, that word`s long been obliterated from the human dictionary, especially in our society. People laying claims like the one you did from the comfort of their cozy bedrooms need to take a hike down the countryside and socialize more often with the hoi-polloi. And had you bothered to look deep into the questions of the poor kid (which i must say, much to his dismay, if went unheard or undeciphered even on this board of self-proclaimed intellectuals of the society, how could he expect the common man-in-the-street to pay a heed?), they weren`t directed towards Allah apart from the first couple and those too as a sort of mockery, but were actually supposed to be castigating the injustice and ` lack of contentment` prevailing and ameliorating in the society.
Hope I addressed you concerns adequately. I do, however, fully understand that coming from a presumably Muslim background, it should really feel good and relieving to emancipate yourself of religion, and ergo, of all viabilities and restrictions associated with it, but hey hypengyophobia is as bad as any other phobia, and all phobias must be gotten rid of.
And the song`s cool, Coldplay happens to be one of may favorites too. btw don`t you think `in my place, were lines i couldn`t replace` would also fit well in the context of the boy`s despondence and his queries? thanks. :)

On your techinical point, in Pakistan, its both ways
Green - yellow - red
and red - yellow - green.

narrator should have had some balls and had asked these questions directly to Allah Mian after seeing the manifestations of Him being All Merciful around him... but No!. he turned out to be a what? well sissy?.. anyways.. so what would you do when you are scared shitless.. you fight your war by proxy so he`d put all these dilemmas biting him somewhere in the netherlands into the mouth of a poor, hapless character who if one had met one of them in real life... will know, that apart from their visceral misery, have very little concern about these Afaaqi questions.. most of the time your average paan waala, bhikaari, gadha gaarri wala or motormechanic will be very content with their chai-ki-pyalis by day and thurra by night routine and couldnt care less about Jabr-ul-Qadar.. but alas!... here one specimen was caught a victim of the massive ego of a bored, well-fed schmuck who in any case was (as i said, did i say that already?) scared shitless...
just to even things out a bit.. i`d think coldplay verbalized the things for our narrator a bit better... a touch cheesy and melodramatic but that`s why it would fit in here so well, me thinks... here it goes.. (napkins handy, everybody!)
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah they were all yellow,
I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow
So then I took my turn
Oh all the things I`ve done
And it was all yellow
Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
D`you know you know I love you so
You know I love you so
I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh all the things you do
Cause you were all yellow
I drew a line
I drew a line for you
Oh what a thing to do
And it was all yellow
Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
D`you know for you i bleed myself dry
For you i bleed myself dry
Its true look how they shine for you
look how they shine for you
look how they shine for you
look how they shine for you

look how they shine
look at the stars look how they shine for you

well written! each time i go to either pakistan or suadi arabia and see young children on the street begging for money and food i wonder what there future would be. we sit each day in our homes thinking that we have not done well in an exam or an assignment and assess the consequence of our mistake. we should be thankful that we lead a comfortable life despite our hurdles and difficulties. there are merely obstacles that we have to overcome who shape who we are and each one of us take it differently. i know for sure i take it to the extreme, but that is a different topic!
however big shoe, well written, and now stop harrassing me with those phone calls now that i have read your article! :@

First of all I would like to mention how indebted I feel to the esteemed chowk-staff for publishing this piece of absolute gibberish and bull-crap, after merely a month`s wait, and that too in this highly coveted `fishy-tank (thanks to Amrita) which would undoubtedly attract anypasser-by`s eye a lot more than an article listed on top ...and not to forget how insightful they have been by listing it under the category `fiction`, and not `society`, which i feared it would fall under and that would have been so utterly derogatory!
Secondly, I would like to thank bjkumar, sameena, nadeem, kalihawa and subroto for not only dropping by taking the pains of reading this `piece of absolute gibberish and bull-crap`.

Big questions here. What is the meaning of life? Why are we here? What is our purpose in the world? Why do they charge extra for additional toppings on pizza?
I could have clicked anywhere....but this was good.

One technical point. Signal doesn`t turn green after yellow, it is the other way round.
God is merely a probability. If you throw marbles, one or two may drop in pit rest will scatter. I would have preferred that conversation with an old man rather than a boy.

THE COLOUR YELLOW-A factual exhibition of impatience extent of patience as soon as fleeting phases encompass our spheres of lives, an insignia of saying something in between YES and NO,
THE COLOUR RED-A silent decisive mode to cater thoughts establishing outlook towards life in any ways,
THE COLOUR GREEN-WAR is ON!!!
Nice quite often observed, if observed, conversation going on during quite stable phase of life before the rhythm was suddenly shattered by the “To Get Ready” frame. Hi chap, do you remember Amjad Islam Amjad,
Zindagee Bhee Mehngee Hay, Mout Bhee Naheen Sustee
Keep it up!!! Feeling sleepy :), you can imagine, badly drunk.......oops

Shobig,
Well felt. But why did you deprive him of his orange when he possessed more answers than you? Not very nice....

[This yellow is our color; we fail to discern that it’s short-lived. We won’t struggle for the green, nor will we hold-up for it. We are short-lived, just like the color yellow.]
I think this write-up belongs more in the ``red`` category.
