Jay,

That was very interesting. It explains why women are the most voracious of Sales Hunters *tarnished halo above my head*(yes me too, who`d a thunk it)
after all its triggering our gathering instinct. All the stores are much like berry patches. and vegetable gardens. Have you ever noticed the most successful stores use a lot of red`s green`s or blue`sin their signage and sale signs? and color schemes? Thats because in the retail Forests. One knows sometimes the red and blue berries are good to eat :) and sometimes they are bad :(. But mostly they mean you can get more berries for the amount of money in your hand and we all know if you ever went berry picking a handful is never enough. You want to fill your mouth, pockets, your hands, and your knap sack to get as many berries as possible, your apron skirt if you were aproned. The Green shades stand for healthy vegetables and women generally love things that are vegetarian.

I also agree there is nothing quite like finding a bargain that everyone else has overlooked. Its like a mad power trip. men have their hunting down wee animals and putting their lights out. Some guys like to get the blood on themselves to. Much like other animal predators. But our Gals, huh we can not resist a bargain stretching a meager budget so finding a Polo Jeans for 5 bucks that were originally 6
bucks!!! is Phenomenal!!!!.

However on the other hand when you go to sale and buy all this CHEAP inexpensive stuff and if you thought about it later like we all do in this CHARGE2DaMAX society. You might wonder how much is this stuff really worth if it can be knocked down to only 5 dollars. whats wrong with the item. but really one should say whats wrong with the price to begin with? If this item is really only worth 5 bucks why do we want to pay more? Of course thats an answer to think about and an answer for another day.

However its very sad to look at ones credit statements and bank balances and realize mon dieu what was I thinking. Now I know it was not my modern brain thinking it was that limbic system. that lizard brain taking control *likely excuse* yeah right I know just another excuse.

But in all honesty shopping can be total rush for Us girls with the Gatherer Gene Turned on at full throttle.Jay. its nice you have put Retail OOnionmania in his proper evolutionary perspective. Thanks so much you have validated me and i will show this to myb rother who often shakes his head at my shopping foray`s he shakes his head less these days as I have discovered the power of Ebay to transfer myself from Mad Huntress to Mad Retailer.

Mohar,

I have to agree with you there. Women tend to be more into saving through buying. Well that is another topic to discuss, the confusion between saving and spending.

Regards

Jay

Thanks mannyd, for remembering me, an old timer on chowk, not seen for nearly a year.

Urstruly

Take it easy. i have stopped at least for the time being a provocateur of the pakistanis. Six years on chowk has shown that the educated are the problem of pakistan, can only talk of the geographic rent due to its location, playing china against the uS as the road to prosperity. there is no dream of a future built by their own effort, by developing a scientifc temper in the society.

The lowest point was when they welcomed a few farang nobel laurettes recently to pakistan with no mention of Abdus Salam. A country ruled by the elites where the scientific achievenemnt of one its own can be ignored because of him being an Ahmadia, is not a country with any future.

So take it easy Urstruly, do not use bad words, read the message, have a lighter view of life. Pull that photo down, he only has condemned the 150 million to a slow death.

#6: AAAHO?

LOL..HAHAHAHAHA. I like you Kaptain Sahib. You are very funny too.

No! Jay is from Kerla, has a PhD in Finite element analysis, works as an Engineer in Australia and has a knack for twisting the nose of pompous asses on Chowk. SO you were wrong on all three assumptions. Did you like the article though?

``Only once have I seen an ‘April Fools Day Sale’. Naturally the prices were higher than normal. There is no hunting here; you are being hunted by the shop keeper. Avoid these sales like quick sands. ``

LOL..
You are funny as ever Jay.

#4 Kaptain: If you really have to jump to some silly conclusion, why dont you ask some questions first?

What is stone-age as a major? Is that the Pakistaniyat class you took on Pakistan?

[....The “Sale” signs in shopping malls wake up the hunting spirit deep inside a modern man, same as what an overweight pig did to our forefathers....]

Are you crazy - which modern man ever gets excited at sale signs shopping malls[unless it`s for a big screen tv]?... men scoot as fast as possible before the wife see the sale sign...
