Your statement is one of the first symptoms of ``disbelief`` and one of the first ``consequences`` of a closed-up narrow mind. You don`t believe in yourself, do you BOY?
Poeple who cannot hear anything are called `deaf`, and people who cannot hear themselves are called dee-you-emm-be ``DUMB``?
As such if you had been reading what you wrote, with a sincere self-assessment you`d notice that the Holmes quote applies more to you than the one you addressed. masadi was pouring more light on your mind to expand your knowledge, yet your brain contracted to produce the personal insults at him.
Do let us know when you`re able to comprehend the aforementioned phenomenon. But please do so without displaying your vulgar and profane colors if you wish to be heard.

Awww... I`m sorry to have broken your heart. Please don`t take it so hard on yourself because I did mention ``No offense``.
Or are you simply trying to take the entire board on another tangent?
Whatever the case, I think it`s way too late for either as the board is about to go off FP.
But just so you don`t sizzle yourself to death, today Musharraf is a much better politician than ABV, MS, BB, NS, and everyone else combined. Regardless of my disagreement with his policies, and to everyone`s chagrin - especially Hindian, he`s got his hooves and the brain situated in the right places. The only thing the US, Europe, and India can do to remove him is use military force, but then they`ll have to deal with the jihadis in a manner they cannot imagine for now.
Cheers

[No retard, it is not paperweight, it is ``tent pegs``, awtaad. The fact that mountains have roots was something your monkey-god was incapable of discovering, the creator of the heavens and earth had to inform us long before GB Airy came up with the idea in 1855. The system of balance, in which mountains and their roots play a crucial role, which you mock out of your ignorance, is well established by the concept of isostacy. ]
Tents::Pegs = Mountains::Mountain Roots
And the mountains hold down the earth, so that it does not shake.
To say that you are retarded for trying so hard to defend all this nonsense is a gross understatement. It is pointless arguing with you - you are a gone case. Why it is that you NEED to believe this nonsense is beyond me.
You remind me of that rather apt saying:
“ The mind of a bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.”- Oliver Wendell Holmes
Tell me - what is it that made you this way? Are you madly in love with your wife and she is an Islamic nutcase? Is it your family that drilled this kind of garbage into your brain? There is obviously a NEED to believe this nonsense.
I am honestly baffled.
In any case. I wish you well. Just don`t go out and kill anybody regardless of who translates what idiotic bedouin lunacy into whatever.
You hear me?

Dear bj,
First of all, please maintain focus in your posts. Otherwise, it`s in your interest to debate one issue/person at a time.
I must confess that my knowledge of your holy Book is less than most of your compatriots - yet I must confess that the more I see of your compatriots conducting themselves the more thankful I become of that fact! (No disrespect is intended to your knowledge or your faith!) Because of that limited knowledge, I do base many of my assumptions regarding the body of that ummah on simple common sense.
With all due respect bj, the underlined logic is strange, to say the least. I don`t know your profession, but suppose if you were to be a physician, do you mean to say that you`d rather not acquire the proper education to be a good physician, just because some physicians are not practicing medicine correctly; and that you`d rather practice quackery with the little knowledge you`ve acquired through mere observation? Why restrict the grwoth of your knowledge and potential? I hope you`re secure enough to expand it beyond most Muslims. I`m sure you`ll be the primary beneficiary of such an acquisition.
You can continue to your heart`s desire to interchange Islam and Muslims to your end, but people of minimum intelligence, including children, understand the difference. As someone mentioned pointedly that if an entire nation is to be stereotyped for the actions of few...then I`m afraid your lip service here may be a disservice to your American nationality and Indian heritage.
You have a right to buy Manto`s line or not, but facts are facts, which are documented by legitimate sources with evidences. Hence these have to be recognized.
No offense but your el presidente, GWB, is a dumbass with hooves on top of his head and his brains under his feet. What else could one expect from a guy who`s still looking for titties on the back of a bull horn.
What gives YOU such legitimacy?
Simple...sometimes the legitimacy of one`s arguments and actions lies in the illegitimacy of the others` arguments and actions... no offense, of course :-)~~
Your story of the sparrows did not quite connect - but it does appear intuitively that a sparrow which is in a state of spin would be unable to make rational judgement on issues because of its obvious lack of stability!
Good Job! Seeeeeeeee, you DO have a potential to acquire common sense....which is not all that common.
May that beard keep flowing smoothly and not into caught up into any HumVee wheels before its time!
Insha Allah it will catch all the HumVees and TATAs when the time is right, if Allah has Planned it to be so. :-)~~
There`s a hadith (saying) of our Prophet (PBUH): if a person is overpowered by Shaitaan (Satan), he/she is doomed to hell; but if a person is overpowered by a disbelieving human being, he/she will find himself/herself on the highest levels of Paradise, situated comfortably amongst the best of Allah`s Creations. So, it`s a win-win situation for me whether HumVees and TATAs get caught in my beard or vice versa.
[...it can only be conducted by the one who possesses a thorough knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah, and is aware of context of each verse in the Quran and each action of the Prophet (PBUH). ...]
May I ask you why Manto can not claim that knowledge and understanding but you can? What is it that makes you ``better-informed``? Do you have a direct hot-line to Allah tala?
What Manto or anyone else can and cannot claim is not up to me. Suffice it to say I admire his hard earned wealth of knowledge. May Allah bless him, and all of us, with more knowledge to benefit the humanity in this life and hereafter.
As for the hotline to Allah T`ala...He has extended the access to every one of us. Of course, certain conditions and restrictions apply, whereas one must fulfill the requirements and abide by His rules to benefit from it. Therefore, it`s only up to each of us to believe in Him and get connected instantly to receive the Guidance no human being could offer.
Last but not least, we`re still waiting for your definition of religion, and whether you`ve mustered the strength to study the Quran or not. Please do keep us posted.
Sincerely,
ntsyed :-)~~
PS: if you don`t hear from me after today, it`ll be because I`m scheduled to visit the Holy cities of Makkah & Madinah for a few days.

I completely understand why Jinnah broke off from the Congress ba$tards and formed Pakistan. If I were in his shoes, I would do the same. These Congress leaders are nothing more than dirty filthy dogs whose only job is to divide the subcontinent and its people in the name of caste, religion, language etc in order to grab power and enjoy ruling Delhi. They dont give a $hit about ruining millions of people`s lives and bringing destruction to the entire nation.
Just look at so called Congress leaders like Arjun Singh. Just because he wants to be the PM, he has come out with the order to implement reservations in 50% of the seats in IITs, IIMs and other institutions for OBCs. This scoundrel doesnt care about ruining millions of people`s careers and their lives. He doesnt care about ruining India`s economy and its development. Its all for his own political gain. Doctors and students have gone on hunger strike against this, but the sob Arjun Singh is visiting some foreign country. I hope the Lashkar-e-Toiba or the Jaish-e-Muhammad gets him. In fact, we Indians should offer Kashmir to the Lashkar-e-Toiba if they can kill all these Congress and Communist politicians on behalf of us impotent hindus.
If Jinnah had not separated, muslims would have had to deal with the Congress ba$tards every day and go through this nuisance. I am glad they escaped from that and got their own country. At least they can chart out their own destiny and live their own lives. In India, it is nothing more than a constant struggle against politicians and their vested lobbies in order to survive.

But M.Asadi, your #4 reminds me of the good old days when there was actaully something of value to be learned from strolling around the chowk. That was brilliant!

NTSyed saheb,
Subhan allah! Aakhir to aap nazar aye!
I thought that you had disappeared somewhere - like that crescent moon!
Take the simple assumption that there IS a distinction between the radical Islamists versus the peace-loving Islamists! You imply that there is none. I beg to differ.
Try as I may, I have a difficult time visualizing the likes of Dr. Gill, the esteemed editoress-in-chief, our favorite writer Jawahara - even darling Manto, and countless others, wrapping themselves up with fertilizers and self-igniting (although I have little doubt that certain individuals may have wished upon them the same end results)! Others, like mian H2 (the ``gas``) appear too busy hoarding money and redirecting it to the coffers of US Congressmen to be able to contemplate such acts - and the stench would most probably turn them off, anyway!
So there is no doubt that the latter type does exist!
Frankly, I have a tough time buying the line that Manto is preaching here - that the Mullahs had nothing to do with creating Pakistan and it was all Jinnah`s doing! How could that be? Do you mean to tell me that the Mullahs were all set to grab that lollipop and this pork-chomping, wine-slurping lawyer from a no-name city called Bombay came just like that and took it away while the Mullahs could only helplessly watch!
And drool!
How could it be!
In my earlier post, I was simply quoting Mr. Bush, our president. It is my understanding that he has conferred with some of the top Muslim clergy located in the USA before coming up with the formulation of the distinction between ``fringe radical Islam`` and ``peace loving Islam``! Are you telling me that all those members of the clergy - one of whom even attended the post 9/11 memorial service where he emphasized the peaceful aspects of Islam - all of those people were wrong and YOU are right? What gives YOU such legitimacy?
Your story of the sparrows did not quite connect - but it does appear intuitively that a sparrow which is in a state of spin would be unable to make rational judgement on issues because of its obvious lack of stability!
May that beard keep flowing smoothly and not into caught up into any HumVee wheels before its time!
May I ask you how and how come you turned into that ``wayward`` Muslim? (Nothing that would upset Mrs. NTSyed, I hope!)

Sri bj (hmmmm) kumar ji!
Many thanks for your warm wishes :-)~~
Let me share a small story with you before I reply to your post.
One fine day two innocent sparrows were flying together when an F-16 at maximum speed passed above their heads...throwing them out of balance and left them spinning like a couple of tops in mid-air.
When they came to be, one asked the other: ``what was that, and what was it`s problem?``
The other replied: ``you`d be flying like that too if your tail was on fire.``
#174 may appear pathetic to you as you`re alien to Islam and successfully trained to parrot the prevalent propaganda without verifying the facts.
The question was put to the author with the impression that he may be aware of terminologies he`s throwing at us. Just because it serves your agenda doesn`t mean he understands the words. At least it`s not apparent in the context he uses these.
I could`ve explained the terms in my post, but neither am I the author nor misusing these just because I can spell them. However, for your simple mind, I`ll try to provide the definitions in simple words.
Ijtihad is conducted to determine what needs to be done in situations when there`s no clear precedence in the Shar`ia - Islamic way of life - as laid out in the Quran and verifiable Sunnah (traditions) of the Prophet (PBUH). Therefore, by definition, it can only be conducted by the one who possesses a thorough knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah, and is aware of context of each verse in the Quran and each action of the Prophet (PBUH).
Ijma is the consensus between scholars of Islam to decide whether an action required in certain circumstances conforms to the Shar`ia. Again, that is only required when a precedence during the life of the Prophet (PBUH) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) is unknown. And again, these scholars have to be well versed in the Quran and Sunnah.
I hope it helps.
As for #205, in a relatively long post on basically nothing, you`ve repeatedly referred to ill-informed Muslims, not Islam. Therefore, kindly consider my reply to it a favor.
``In the USA, we make a clear distinction between adherents of radical Islam versus the vast majority of peaceful people of Muslim faith who happen to be so by the accident of birth. The distinction is not as ambiguous as some of the Islamic ``clergy`` would like us to believe.``
With all due respect, in the USA majority doesn`t make anything but slaves to the rising sun...mass produced. The day you start analyzing what lies beneath the surface, you may very well find yourself vacationing with US military in Guantanamo Bay ... unless of course you have pale skin.
In the USA, we make a clear distinction between adherents of radical Islam versus the vast majority of peaceful people of Muslim faith who happen to be so by the accident of birth. The distinction is not as ambiguous as some of the Islamic ``clergy`` would like us to believe.
The former are those who blow up innocent subway riders, who send in hijackers to hijack planes to crash them into buildings or to cut up the throats of newlyweds like goat-kids, who put their ``religion`` above their common sense!
Please look at my icon, or my posts, and tell me if I seem like a person who would give two sh-ts about what the government or the people of the USA may or may not think about Islam? From my personal extensive exposure of that land, aside from technological developements [which is highly dependant upon naturalized citizens like Shaikh hamidm2] most people cannot even differentiate between their anterior and posterior.
Just because the `former` are unavailable to defend themselves against the accusations being leveled at them, it doesn`t mean they`re guilty as charged. To date NO evidence whatsoever has been produced to support the allegations beyond a shadow of doubt. Thus, conspiricy theories abound. Therefore, in their own courts of law, the accusations don`t mean anything. Please enter the 21st century Sri Kumar ji.
Now that you`re clear on the aforementioned issues, please enlighten the rest of us with your definition of religion, so we could learn from your comprehension. I hope it`s not a difficult question for you to answer.
Faulty as this author`s thinking is on many issues, he is at least trying to turn your whole multitude of humanity to a different direction - from the current one of certain destruction that it has been on an onward march for the last sixty years!
Oh he aint trying to change nothing, bro. Just like you, and many confused Moslems, he`s parroting the official US policy on Muslims & Islamic countries. Mind you, his kind may not be hypocrites as they don`t wish to deceive. It is simply what they believe and insha Allah with a sincere study of Quran that will change very soon for him. Rest assured, he ain`t the first nor the last nor alone.
You see Sri Kumar ji, again your definition of ``destruction`` is at odds with the definition laid out in the Quran because you`re alien to Islam. But one shouldn`t exert such excrutiating pressure on your nimble mind, therefore I invite you to take your time reading and understanding the Quran. If nothing else, you may be able to point us to the weaknesses therein with solid evidences. I hope you have the courage to take on this DARE.
A sincere advice for future references, please don`t dare even a wayward Muslim like me unless you know him better than you know yourself.
BTW, you don`t have to tell us if you feel like a sparrow with its tail on fire.
:-)~~

:-)~~
