Hi Shandana! Great little article. Really enjoyed it..and well, being in the process of writing my novel myself (it`s only been about 3 years for me so far..hehe...and I`ve got a PLAN to ensure I`m published (problem is i`ll probably also get a fatwa on my head!!)...it was v. relevant and informative too.
You have excellent descriptive skills: Vide. ``I walked like a crab with a wedgie...`` Brilliant!
Well, mubarak ho!
p.s. What`s it called?

A novel, hmmmm. This should be interesting, even though I sure hope it`s not about having babies:)

Shandana Behen,
Why are you not repsonding to me?
If you afraid of other interactors, please dont be. I will take care of anyone who take panga with you.
I am also trying to write a book. I have over 100 pages written so far.I started doing it as part of my least favorite subject at Harvard(Creative Writing). Now it is sitting somewhere under the pile. But once again my writer-keera is waking up.

Hey Shandana, congratulations! My book comes out around August. I wonder if we have the same publisher. This is so exciting. I can`t wait to read your book.

If you`re talking about Islam, then i`m not really the least bit bothered, as i am not a very religious person. For the most part Muslim people in `Muslim` countries are like Christians in Christian countries, i.e. not really fussed, its just there.
If you want to debate about what is right or wrong or what so and so Hadith says then go and debate with a scholar who gives a hoot!
Personally i feel all religions have a nice and a not so nice part, and can be used to manipulate people to do the worst things that humanity has seen, it can also motivate people to do the best. At the end of the day its just a tool, use it how you see fit, if at all!

Kaura Ji,
5-6 generations ago my family were indeed Hindu and Sikh, we def. dont hide this fact, and are not ashamed of it at all, this fact still shows in our names. I`m quite happy with my Hindu and Sikh history, as well as quite content with my Muslim present. At the end of the day they are just different ways to reach God.
DW
Chill out and learn to take a joke. Stop trying to make a mountain out of nothing. Stop being so anal about bara baje, if you ever crossed the Ravi you would hear the term all the time and not in reference to Sikhs. Post #16 sounds like a petty childish idiot, in a class trying to get everyone on his side about something irrelevant.
And what about your use of the term Jihadi, if i wanted to be anal i could easily bring that up, your obvious uneducation shows when you use that term willy nilly especially in a stereotypical term towards Muslims. Just because someone says something (you think is anti sikh) they must be a jihadi! Bongia sochna chad dey, tey gittya to apni akil kad leya

There is one way that does NOT lead to God ... where its going you will know when you start
thinking ...
Sorry to break it to you, mate. But you should have known it ...

Shandana Behen Jee,
Please note that I never said anything about you and your lastname with bad intentions.
My almost-a-best friend used to be a Minhas(he joined Punjab Police I think).
I hope that you become a good writer like another famous Pakistani woman Tahira Durrani. I had read her book and was inspired by her book.(it was her autobigraphy of some sort) but the quality of writing was very good.
