`` Only time has proven that Taliban policy towards Northern Alliance was absolutely correct. Northern Alliance was nothing but an alliance of charlatans and thugs who would sell their mothers for cash, jut as they sold their motherland to the people who decimated their own country to smithereens. ``
Do you really think Taliban is independent of the Pakistani military whom you claim to despise ?? Either you must be a liar or living in your own fantasy land.

`` Pashtuns form the majority ethnic group in Afghanistan, representing 45 percent of the population. However, at the moment they feel marginalized. Pashtuns have been in power in Afghanistan since it was formed in 1774 (with two exceptions). Since the Americans established democracy in Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, a Pashtun, has been in power. However, the real authority continues to lie with the interim ministers of Panjshir origin. This has increased the frustration felt by Pashtuns, who mostly reside in the southern and eastern provinces of Afghanistan. As the Taliban was mainly a Pashtun movement, these are the provinces where the Taliban have a stronghold. The current political situation explains why the Taliban are gaining popularity once again in these provinces. ``
It is nonsense that Northern Alliance ministers control things in Kabul. Can you name names of influential Northern Alliance people in Kabul ? All the Northern Alliance leaders in Karzai`s original cabinet have been sidelined.
I wonder if Pakistanis who make these allegations are poodles of their own government.

ABC News Opinion Poll (Dec 2005)
Although most Afghans have a favorable view of the U.S. but this opinion is negative in disaffected and socially conservative sections of society. At this point, Taliban and drug trafficking are the biggest problems of Afghanistan. Yet Karzai govt is too incompetent and incapable of solving these problems. Simply put, he needs billions of dollars in U.S. aid.

As much as I hate Pakistani dictatorship`s Afghan policy, and especially murder and torture of its own citizens in Waziristan to please their masters, I think it is lesser of the two evils. The fact is that Americans and other crusadres are untrustworthy, unprincipled, and unreliable, so it will be ultimate stupidity for any government even as morally bankrupt as Pakistani government to put all their eggs in one American basket. It is just a matter of time that US and other crusaders will be expelled out of Afghanistan and Pakistan will end up holding their mess. So I think a better approach for GOP, while the time is on their side, would be to build a wall all along the Afghan border at crusaders` expense because of the inevitability of the potential mess in Afghanistan.

Pakistan sheltering Taliban, says British officer
A senior British officer accused Pakistan of allowing the Taliban to use its territory as a ``headquarters`` for attacks on western troops in Afghanistan as insurgents struck on multiple fronts yesterday.
Here`s what Barry McCaffrey is saying
McCaffrey didn`t mince words about Pakistan`s links with Taliban: ``Their base areas in Pakistan are secure.`` Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf hotly denies what is undeniable. But McCaffrey counters, ``Pakistan is an active sanctuary for the Taliban and is struggling against the `Talibanization` of their side of the frontier... Pakistani madrassas (Koranic schools) continue to get the very bright sons of the Afghan rural areas because of poverty and lack of a proper Afghan educational system.``
