Basically, Judo-American aggressors and their western crusader partners want to accomplish, using UN, what they couldn`t accomplish by their naked aggression. This is an extremely tall order for UN. In the end, I think US will be able to twist arm of the NATO to step in, instead of a UN force. So far, in the history of NATO, its resume only shows the combat experience in war Balkans against Serbia, and in Afghanistan. In both of the cases, its performance has been abysmal. I am beggining to think that finally an era has come when the concept of a regualr army is at the beggining of its end. But as the titanic of ``conventional regular armies`` is going to sink it will take with it many countries into the vortex of non-existence; especially those countries who have global militarlistic aspirations.

The news of the demise of the war is highly exaggerated. So why this ``post-mortem``?
The title should be a post-mortem of Usraeli arrogance, haughtiness, war-crimes, &
ASHKI-NAZIsm.
and you think freethinking is for free?
Sitting on the fence &to be a ``neuted intellectual`` is for the birds. First put a disclaimer that you are not on the side of muslim-killers, then and only then, a ``discussion`` can ensue.
Otherwise write just the title, any title, and 300+ interacts would generate in no time.

``Hezbollah offered financial help to the Lebanese....It was not a publicity stunt; it seemed that they really cared for their people.``
....
``The Israeli public and the reservists are outraged and are demanding that their government investigate the causes of poor performance of the Israeli army.``
One of this is a fairy tale and one is the truth. No prizes for guessing which one is right. That is really why, at the end of the day, Israel will triumph.
Hizbollocks are nothing but p*mps who let their mother Lebanon to be ravaged by Iran and Syria. I think the Lebanese know that but are too afraid to speak out.
And Israel knows who it`s real enemies are. I invite you to read this story:

The triumph of Hezbullah over the Imperial & colonial forces of the Western & Usraeli gangsters have also brought to a glaring & dazzling light the treachery to muslims
exhibited by the slaves of the west.
It has clearly & forever drawn the line between the Umma & her leaders Like Nasrullah, Hania, Malaysia PM, Indonesia PM & Iraniana PM AND the westoxicated slaves like Musharraf, House of Saud, Mubarak , Morrocco, Tunis, etc etc. [these are Footrulers because having an amreekan kick up their arses all the time].
The UMMAH is thoroughly & clearly United like reinforced steel now & the victory over the Goliath has invigorated the movement to the point that there shall be , inshallah, no turning back.

@ echoboom,
Why`d u include the leaders of Indonesia and Malaysia in the list of ``good guys``? They`re more or less pro-American from what I understand.

Ah, yes: another Victoly!!! for the Peepers Levorushun!!!
Of course Uri Avenery, who writes for Ha`aretz, (in Israel) isn’t a two fisted, fire breathing REAL patriot, like Dick Cheney, or lil billy kristol, but still, he is actually there, been there, and done that.
A few more victories like this & Israel will be in Brooklyn.
HAHAHA!

I would say that Iran actually won the war just as Pakistan won the Afghanistan war when they drove out Soviets. Iran has diverted the attention over their nukes and Lebanon`s innocent civilians bore the cost of Iran`s proxy war.Now Iran is more powerfull and other Arab nations are getting concerned about it.
Some plus points are that Israel has also gained the buffer zone and all this has sharpened the call for the civilian authority in Lebanon showing some balls and reigning in Hezbollah. If all the cards are played well Hezbollah may be marginalized. However, they seem to be seeking pay back from the entire ummah for their `sacrifices` and their `daring` and are collecting funds all over the world. I hope that the ummah sees through their plan and does not contribute a penny to these goons and mafiaso other wise it is going to be like funding the terrorist organization and ensuring that more terror threats in the name of umham gets the world alarmed for a long time to come............this is bound to make the world more fidgety and make things worse for the moderate muslims who live in multi-religious and secular environs...............I would not pay a penny to these goons...........if anything I would give it to some UN supervised relief fund..............

``Hezbollah offered financial help to the Lebanese who had suffered damage to their properties by the Israeli bombing; they started doling out thousands of dollars to each of the people whom they determined deserved the compensation. It was not a publicity stunt; it seemed that they really cared for their people. In spite of heavy damage that the Lebanese suffered in the war which the Western press said Hezbollah had precipitated, there was no ill-will against Hezbollah in Lebanon or in any other Arab country. ``
It is Iran that funds Hezbollah......and Iran`s oil money that should go in providing amneties to its citizens goes into their jigoistic expansionism strategy...........it was a war and the spoils of war was the morally shattered ordinary citizen of Lebanon.......and now Hezbollah doling out those rewaris is like putting a cheap ointment on the deep lacerations of your victim and saying that this is the proof of your compassion and concern..............Now ordinary Lebanese are even more scared of Hezbollah goons................they have shown their capabilites to take on the Israel, we should not even think of any ordinary Lebanese complaining against Hezbollah.................so strong is the fear of these goons................

Second-class compensation
...A fourth petition, submitted by attorney Samuel Dahwar from the Arab village of Fassouta in Galilee, reveals the fact that no Arab communities are included on the full-compensation list even though Arab towns and villages were in the range of the Katyushas and were hit by them...``
on the future, as i have been saying on this website for a very long time, muslims should be grateful to USraelis for accelerating the pace of m.e. even in my wildest imagination did i expect to see incompetency on the scale displayed by the USraelis. its almost like dropping a 500 lb bum on your own feet:

The `New Middle East` Bush Is Resisting
...According to the preliminary results of a recent public opinion survey of 1,700 Egyptians by the Cairo-based Ibn Khaldun Center, Hezbollah`s action garnered 75 percent approval, and Nasrallah led a list of 30 regional public figures ranked by perceived importance. He appears on 82 percent of responses, followed by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (73 percent), Khaled Meshal of Hamas (60 percent), Osama bin Laden (52 percent) and Mohammed Mahdi Akef of Egypt`s Muslim Brotherhood (45 percent).
The pattern here is clear, and it is Islamic. And among the few secular public figures who made it into the top 10 are Palestinian Marwan Barghouti (31 percent) and Egypt`s Ayman Nour (29 percent), both of whom are prisoners of conscience in Israeli and Egyptian jails, respectively.
None of the current heads of Arab states made the list of the 10 most popular public figures.

To recap what has really happened
(a) Iran direverted attention from its Nukes
(b) Iran showed the world it has a few die-hard patsies called hizbollah
(c) many more hizbollah died than Iranians or others
(d) Lebanon has been cleared of civilisation (esp s.lebanon)
(e) Israel has got its buffer zone
the rest is all just pipe dreams of the spin doctors.
The only winners here were clearly (as said on earlieir boards) were the Israelies - they got what they really wanted, the Iranians since they also got their diversions. The other winners if they play their cards rights would be the lebaneses govt.

I don`t understand many folks think the Hezbollah won. The Israelis pounded Lebanon into fine dust, their whole economy has been set back by at least 2 decades, and many innocent Lebanese have lost their lives. Hezbollah`s support structure has been destroyed. The Hezb may have withstood the onslaught, but no one can deny that it has lost many of its cadres.
In comparison, Israel lost a handful of soldiers and civilians, which is acceptable considering the aim which was to create a buffer zone. The ferocity and scale with which the Israelis retaliated surprised the Hezb and I can bet my ass off that it won`t attempt another silly kidnapping of Israeli soldiers.
Israel wanted these two things and got it.

`What Next` will depend upon the outcome of the Iran-Nuke row. It seems clear Iran will not agree to any UN resolution to halt enrichment, in which event USA will have three possible courses of action, ``all of them bad`` according to Giora Eiland, Israel`s former national security adviser.
The first option was ``to give up`` - to accept that Iran was going nuclear and try to make the best of it. By ``making the best of it,`` Eiland said, he meant ``isolating Iran economically, politically and internationally in the hope that this will eventually prompt an internal push for regime change.``
Second option was to launch a last-ditch effort at diplomatic action. At this stage, a mixture of sanctions and bonuses would not be sufficient to deter Iran altogether, but it might seek to persuade Teheran to suspend progress for two or three years.``In return, the US would have to open direct engagement with Teheran, with full recognition of the regime.``
The third option was a military operation - born of the sense that the diplomatic process would not work and that there could be no compromise with an axis-of-evil power. However, internal political realities and public opinion in the US were not conducive to this, he said, nor was international support readily available. Furthermore, ``this would be action that would have to be taken within months. If not, and if Iran continues enrichment, it will complete the research and development stage and have a proven ability which it can then duplicate at numerous sites. And at that point it could not be stopped by military action. Six months or 12 months from now would be too late, he said.
Tellingly, Eiland noted, it seemed to him that the difficulties facing the administration over that third course were growing.
So it seems USA is stuck between a rock and a hard place. There doesn`t appear to be much it can do to prevent Iran from becoming a major regional power; in the meantime Hazballah will re-arm. Iraq though is an open question and the timing for the next battle may depend on the US fortunes there.
But one thing is certain. The next battle will be a big one with Iran and Syria out in the field.

These two may have been `your` goals, but not Israel`s according to what they stated as being their `goals`. If you were privy to some `hidden `goals, then you may be right.
Rest of the world thinks otherwise.
Kevin`s Hot Zone.
With a cease-fire in place between Israel and Hezbollah, it`s in neither party`s interest to resume the fight. The reasons why amount to a dangerous new reality for Israel.
For former senior CIA official Milt Bearden, the winners and losers are clear. ``Where it counts, Hezbollah is clearly the winner,`` Bearden says.

The Israelis did two things:
1. Create a buffer zone to prevent physical proximity of the Hezb to Israel
2. Put the fear of God into the Hezbollah the next time they think of silly tactics like kidnapping Israelis.
That pretty much ensures Israeli security from the Hezb for at least the foreseeable future. All it requires to see that is a little common sense, something that is in dire short supply among your ilk.

I see.
Please quote one source which supports your point of view that those two were the objectives.
But in any event, this board is about `what next` and not `who won`. To get the answer to `who won` you can go back to the previous three or so Lebanon boards.
But you can spare me in any discussion. I had previously believed you were capable of some honest discourse, but now I find you are just another macaca.
