``#50 - It turns out that when we muslims find something that is not to our liking, we stick around and try to change it...unlike injuns who simply bend over ``
Trying to change
... Like writing articles on Chowk, which among the US power centers is probably read only by FBI (I am sure even they would have delegated this site and it`s interactors to trash can by now)...
Or like Pakistanis who roll and bend over to every other captain of that rag-tag force, but not once fighting for their rights..
Comparisions from past are no longer valid, my friend

arjun, are all of the histories of humankind contained in the 24 hours of Sept. 11, 2001 in the US?
Ok...s oyou should be balancing the 5+ years of profiling post 9/11 with the lack of profiling for the 50 or so years before that...

Post 9/11 has added another layer,
So you`ve nailed it down to one date? I wonder what happened on that date....

It turns out that when we muslims find something that is not to our liking, we stick around and try to change it
the corollary to that is you`re ok with what`s going on in the land of the pure..all the hellfires falling from the predators..your fellow citizens being sold off to club gitmo..

Re: # 61 Stop lumping all south asians together. You are perpetuating the myth. I rarely get stopped, never been interrogated, and unlike Atif, don`t have a colonscopy scheduled until 2014

Get out of Iraq, out of Palestine, out of Kashmir, out of Afghanistan, out of Chechnya, out of Somalia, and no more racial profiling at airports in USA. Till then it won`t stop.
yes..we know the islamic line..give into all the items on our islamic agenda or we`ll keep trying to fly planes into your buildings and blow up your subways and whine if we get profiled

Atif,
I do think its worth discussing what it means when people of color are paid to be suspicious of people of Arab/South Asian Muslim descent. This is another phenomena after the Model Minority Myth in which Asians and South Asians were considered the ``good`` minorities whereas Black and Latino citizens were considered low income, etc. Post 9/11 has added another layer, another stereotype, another performance of constructing and signifying what ``terrorism`` in on the bodies of South Asian and Arab men. (and some women)

chalta,
i think you know theres more to it than what you`d like to float. what if you are a citizen, have lived, worked, voted here for 30 years and your name is on a watch list? this is indefensible.

#54 - and here comes the master of circular logic! he is decrying the racial profiling of latinos who are busy doing racial profiling of passengers.
#52 - no offence, but you have to be at least a green card holder to elicit a response from me for your stupid posts...I dont have much time for headshaking h-1B visa holders.
#50 - It turns out that when we muslims find something that is not to our liking, we stick around and try to change it...unlike injuns who simply bend over. When we came to India and noticed how nude people were living on trees along with monkeys, we didn`t run back to Arabia. We stuck around and alhamdolillah, today we have nearly 160 million muslims in India alone and nude charlatans like Gandhi are exceptions rather than a rule.

Profiling does not work. It will never work. Atif is right in his point about Hitler`s profiling of the Jews. If it had worked, he would have succeeded in killing them all. And maybe he should have. There would be no problems hence. It`s not what I`m saying. That`s what Mel Gibson said. And just try killing 1.25 billion Muslims.

about Dulles airport is the grisly sight of Sikhs working there.
jihadi2 has a problem with him being rightly singled out because of his paki persuasion but has no problem with racist digs at sikhs...

saminasha: why are racially profiling Latinos who are working hard to ensure your safety?
