nasah #16: ``If on the basis of the inquiry of the Supreme Judicial Council it is determined by a majority vote that Justice Chaudhry is not guilty of misconduct, can anyone imagine the embarrassment it will bring to the government? Will the president be then prepared to resign admitting an error of judgement in referring Justice Chaudhry’s case to the Supreme Judicial Council?``

....If the above happens, it will be a huge event....Perhaps a benchmark in the history of Pakistan......Uptil now, whenever the executive has taken on the judiciary, be it a civilian executive or a military one, the juidiciary has caved in completely.......Nawaz Sharif physically attacked the Supreme Court and the judges voted their own CJ out....Had they not done so, I think democracy would have been established in Pakistan....For the first time in its history, a sitting executive would have been kicked out by the judiciary.......The coup would not have occured etc........

.........This is the first time in the history of Pakistan that someone from the judiciary is actually taking on the executive.....Prior to this, the judges who wanted to take on the executive, merely resigned......That was the limit of, ``taking on``.......Like the previous CJ, Siddiqui, resigned when Musharraf took over......

.......This CJ, who ironically supported Musharraf`s coup as a judge, seems to have developed a spine (finally)........He is taking on the executive by doing something more than resigning.....He is literally taking it on......He has said, he thinks the executive is incorrect and he wants his job back........This is what makes this event historical for Pakistan!.....In addition, due to massive media explosion, everyone in Pakistan is seeing it unfold through a free press.........Something unheard of also..........

........If the SJC votes in favor of the CJ, then Musharraf`s goose could be cooked......The reason he has put the CJ under house arrest is because the CJ was going to rule on Musharraf extending his role as President, through the current assembly and remaining COAS.......Both these acts are highly illegal and the CJ may have ruled against it.......

.....Now the CJ, if reinstated, will definitely rule against it.......At that point, Musharraf will have to take off his uniform and/or go to the newly elected Assembly to get elected President again.......The newly elected Assembly will never elect him.........At which point he will be out of a job.........In addition, the punishment for a coup in Pakistan, I believe (not sure) is the death penalty......Even if Musharraf resigns, he needs, at least, the Assemblies to justify his coup, lest he get tried.....

.......So the stakes here are very high.....In addiition, if Musharraf goes, USA`s GWOT will be affected.....There is no way an elected person in Pakistan will suppor the USA at the same level as Musharraf.......Infact, one of the acts of the CJ was to ask for the persons who had been arrested and were being tortured without a trial by Musharraf - many, if not most, of whom were arrested under the USA`s GWOT.......

.....So this event could have global repreucussions also.......My guess is that USA will be putting a lot of pressure on PPP to not support the CJ........Which maybe why PPP is somewhat in the background, and is not speaking up openly........In addition, the very liberal (not liberal but very) part of the media (Dailytimes etc.) will subtly support Musharraf, as they support the actions against the maulvi brigade, be it legal or illegal..........

........So this decision by the SJC is going to decide the fate of the country (and of Musharraf)........If they rule against Musharraf, he has no option left but to delay the elections and eventually institute another Martial Law......Based on this, I think the military has probably done its homework........They have probably already contacted the judges who constitute the SJC, prior to firing the SJC......And these judges have probably ensured Musharraf, they will fire the CJ.......

.I have a feeling, once again, the judges will screw their own organization........Which is why, Bhagwan Das is still sitting, vacationing, in India, and is not coming back to Pakistan to make the most important decision of his life!......

......What Musharraf did not expect was the spontaneous public support for the CJ......This is going to get him into trouble.......This is the first time, the public has come out against him in the street......They were unwilling to come out when the politicians called them out, because they did not trust the politicians.......However, apparently, they do trust the judiciary to some extent......

........The solution is all quite simple.......The SJC rules in favor of the CJ........Can you ever imagine a group of corps commanders not ruling in favor of their own COAS.........

An interesting QUESTION -- asked by Syed Sharifuddin -- a former special adviser for political affairs in the Commonwealth Secretariat, London -- in today`s DAWN.

``If on the basis of the inquiry of the Supreme Judicial Council it is determined by a majority vote that Justice Chaudhry is not guilty of misconduct, can anyone imagine the embarrassment it will bring to the government? Will the president be then prepared to resign admitting an error of judgement in referring Justice Chaudhry’s case to the Supreme Judicial Council?``(DAWN)

Musharraf does not have that kind of dignity and self-respect to RESIGN -- Musharraf would rather pistol-whip the women and children of all the Justices of the Supreme Judicial Council -- than resign?

It is for some one like Musharraf someone wrote this couplet:

``lakh jootay paRay uththay nu magar ainth gaye
huzrat-e daagh jahaN baith gaye baith gaye``

Now, I`m concerned about Rana Bhgwan Das as well. I suspect either he will not be allowed to return, or placed under house arrest on his return alongwith CJ till the proceedings end.

It heas been stated by the acting CJ that the Government has not filed any reference yet to Supreme Judicial Council ... so in fact it turns out there`s no formal charge against him.

What this means is that it was decided to remove the CJ before filing any reference by musharraf, and the govt is in a scramble to cook up charges with the help of CMs by Friday 16th i.e. the date of hearing. This is also why CJ`s councils are not being allowed to meet him because as of now he has no case to answer.

The article ``Pakistan Shining-I: Propaganda or Reality `` has been deleted from FP. Is Chowk under censorship because the CJ issue was being discussed on that board?

Caution Benazir DON`T -- don`t touch the PARIAH even with a 10 feet pole -- Musharraff is an imposter -- a charlatan -- he is no progressive -- look what he did to the Highest Judge of the country who helped him in so many progressive legistlations regarding women and Hasba bills -- whose only fault or guilt was the he helped this hijacker of an elected government install himself as the president of a captive country and allowed him to govern it with a gun.

Musharraf humiliated not only the Chief Justice treating him like a common criminal while he is still the CHIEF JUSTICE of Pakistan, he manhandled Chief Justice`s wife and his daughters.

What can be more shameful for this lawless man in his pathetic khaki uniform who has a wife and a daughter of his own -- should his wife and his daughter be manhandled by the wretched Islamabad police if Musharraf get `referenced` by the highest court of the country?

Should they? -- one would defintely like to ask Musharraf.

And one day he will be -- one day this ONE-MAN dictatorial profanity and obscenity will dissipate -- one day sanity and polite decency will prevail in Pakistan -- one day Musharraf will stand trial in the same Supremem court before the same Chief Justice
without Musharraf`s wife and children being manhandled by the Punjab and Islamabad Goonda Police -- because the highest judge of the highest court of Pakistan will NOT allow that.

Musharraf has hijacked Pakistan -- for himself and nobody else -- no institution is safe from him -- no individuals are safe from him -- no Constitution is safe from him -- no democratic traditions are safe from him -- he has no principles, no ideology -- he is a gun slinger and his morality is his gun -- he kills decent people -- he kills 80 years old respected icons -- he lives by his gun -- because he is resigned to that one day he will also die by his gun.

He is in it not for you Benazir -- nor for Nawaz Sharif -- he is not in it for the pathetic waterboys -- the Chaudry brothers -- he is not in it for his potted plant Shaukat Aziz -- he is not for democracy or enlightened or darkened moderation -- he is not in it even for his army -- and he is definitely not in it for George Bush nor for his mother Barbara Bush -- he is in it for himself and himslef ONLY -- and certainly not for Pakistan by any means.

Musharraf is the greatest maligner and defiler of his own country -- who has turned a great country like Pakistan into a depressing banana `republic` -- more like a `kayla kingdom` -- and a laughing stock of the world.

So Benazir be warned -- no deals with the Count Dracula of Pakistan -- stay away from Musharraf if you don`t want to be manhandled like the Chief Justice`s wife and daughters -- don`t even look at Musharraf. He was never worth it -- and is definitely not worth it now -- as he stands today after what he did to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and to his wife and his children --Musharraf is a discredited fallen man.

``ISLAMABAD: In an apparent warning to politicians and lawyers protesting against the suspension of Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Monday the government would not allow any person to violate the law.``(Daily Times)

of course only Musharraf is allowed to violate the law.

Shaukat mian the bank-teller -- will be well advised by his fewer and fewer remaining well wishers abroad -- to just SHUT UP and sit in the background like a Musharraf`s totlee woman -- or like a potted plant that he is in Musharraf`s garden -- and don`t open your stupid mouth -- don`t move -- LET Musharraf stew in his own stinking boiling `shorba`.....`prime minister` my foot.

Mr. Author,

This artricle is too long to read, and besides appears to contain the rants just as the previous one.

Some preliminary observations however after a casual glance:

I had demonstrated how the story of our phenomenal GDP growth was nothing more than number juggling.

Since the GDP growth was number juggling, then so must be all the heightened imports exports/ revenue collection figures as well as inflation etc. That`s a LOT of false numbers.

For those who may have missed my last article ...

Don`t worry. They didn`t miss much.

... there is no precedent of any nation having developed economically without consistently saving and reinvesting a substantial portion of its annual GDP.

I can think of at-least one without burdening my fragile mind too much. United States of Americaaa...

Proactive policies and initiatives need to be taken to ensure a positive outcome in quick time through a thorough revamp of NSS with introduction of savings boosting schemes like the CMA account and tax exempt Municipal Bonds.

Aaah .. luckily the middle part of about 4 legal sized sheets is just about the brilliant notion that raising returns to savers will raise the savings rate. So I can jump right to the conslusions in the end !!! Phew ..

Arrey Bhai ... whoever`s savings it is, as long as these remain in the system, they become `national` savings. You see, if you don`t save a single cent, and spend it all, these become someone else`s savings as long as you spend domestically and not abroad. See?

Now tell me, how does raising savings rates help national savings? If the rates are 2%, everyone spends and the cash ends up with producers of stuff who put it in the banks and the banks loan it out to increase GDP. If the rates are 20%, everyone saves and puts these in the banks and the banks loan these out to increase GDP. Is there a difference? Did anything tapkafy from out of thin air?

hahaha ....

(Psst .... seriously, since you seem like a nice guy, the only difference is capital flight)
