I will add one more. Reading your posts I appreciate the distaste that many non-believers have towards Islam. Specifically the founder of this relgion engaged in military battles and as a faith was spread via violence or the threat of violence. I love the letter to the Persian king that goes something like``We have the truth, eith convert, pay jirzya or we will invade`` This is a religion of peace? Also he carried on sexually with a lot of nublie young women,ok ok they were all political matches all the while making up sexually restictive rules that Allah miraculously allowed him to break. Uh yeah.

No other religion has so much violence and bloodshed and raping and abducting of slavegirls. Can you imagine Christ behaving like this? Its just weird how people bend over backwards to defent the indefinsible specifically Mo marriage to nine year old Aisha. So creepy.

Now I am.

I have no doubt you can easily measure the degree of progress between the above two levels. The former is the in-built ( hard wired?) faith, while the latter is having some idea of what it may be all about.

Yes I did. I also maintain that any hadees which contradicts Muhammad`s recorded life, is false. Muhammad himself said many times that he was just an ordinary man and just a messenger of God. In the last sermon, he asked the Muslims whether they thought he had done his duty and asked their forgiveness if they thought he hadn`t. On his deathbed, he said he didn`t know where he was going to be the next day, meaning whether in heaven or hell. There are many such examples. I had also said `except the miracle of Mairaj` which I had qualified by stating that even in that, there`s not likely to be any winged horse.

You see, a little bit of Zeus and Persephone style mythology may even have been necessary for the intellectually challenged but believers nevertheless. ;)

Yes. Muhammad`s finality is perhaps the most powerful link (principle) in the chain tracks of the Steam-roller of Islam, without which all other links (principles) are weakened. Those who question that but want to retain any other principle of Islam, stand no chance.
