``I try not to act like school boy on a field trip, but I`m taking everything in, I`m scanning everything in front of us, around us, the first people I see on the street, the buildings, the other vehicles. I`m drinking it all in. What does a country look like that`s been at war for almost 30 years? What are the people like? How have they survived?``

I hope you tell us about all this in near future. Good write up!

this write up appears like a diary/journal entry.

truemind - that`s your humanity peeking out. I think many people get that feeling - some have just learned to suppress it deeply inside. Mind you, I`m not preaching, that we all need to give up materialism to live in the self alone - I don`t any of us is that strong, I`m just saying that, when I feel that way, I remind myself that this is a good thing.

Folio - don`t plan to do 30, but will defenately try to do some regularly during my stay here. I also post pics on my blog site: http://jsgfilms.blogspot.com

I think most people when travelling somewhere take sometime to see the differences of the new environment they are entering. I have never travelled to the Middle East but I can remember going to Cuba and noticing the change With an hour bus ride to a resort which was bitter sweet as I pasted through the poverty on my way to a
Four star resort where I would be treated like a king in the eyes of the dwellers along the route. I remember when we took a trip to a town in Cuba from the resort and had instructions from the guide on how to hold our camera bags and purses to protect from thief. Maybe some people do not feel bothered by it but at times a feeling of guilt passed through me. Here I was on holiday as a tourist and part of the scenery being taking in was the poverty all around us as we strolled along in our colourful clothing and box store purchased accessories.
