A spirited piece. One hopes more and more Pakistanis will speak out against these Mullahs.
By the way, in almost all Bollywood movies Muslim characters are good (albeit lesser mortals compared to the hero of the film) guys (remember Bollywood takes pride in being a great uniter of faiths through its movies), so that last paragraph is a little out of sync.

Re: # 4 yea u r right. Islaam does not allow ladies in battle field 2 fight. btttt how these aunties can understand it????? i think there moto is good but there style is bad. Islaam cannot spread by force btt by behaviours.
#27 Posted by descent on July 9, 2007 2:27:38 pm
yea its very serious topic nowdays. These so called maulanaas really spoil the image of islaam and MADRISSAAS in the world. They donot know the real mening of jehaad. i think they r just xtreemists. They make shelter of innocent children 2 save themselves.
If they really want 2 do jehaad so y maulana abdul aziz wear Burqa 2 hide his identity. so, we should learn QURAAN by our own with its meanings n` change the views of the world by our behaviours.

because of these people muslims are considered as terrorist ansd jihad as terrorist act but in true sense jihad doesnot mean killing people. look into islamic history our prophet did not use ``dhanda``.these people should be punished they are solely responsiible for all the deaths and casualties.

``innocent missguided souls``
True. EVERYONE is born innocent and then are misguided.
The parents of these misguided souls, should have marched into the MADrassa many months ago, and removed their children.
They didn`t because they were misguided. And their forefathers before them.
Maybe they thought that each of their children will be given an area of Pakistan to rule over?

the drama as that maybe, but the deaths were real.
all of you who find it amusing should be ashamed of urself to have a laugh on account of innocent missguided souls.
what they did with abdul aziz on national tv was humiliating and un ethical.
having said that both of brothers deserve a death sentence.
i am still waiting for zeena`s comments on issue as she was advocating in favour of jamia hafsa and lal masjid.

``Aziz admitted that he and his brother Ghazi had done this many times before``
Come to think of it, it`s hard to believe that walking around in burqa is not a regular practice with ghazi men, given how much advantage it offers over the enemy.

Yes.
But it won`t be just the chinese.
It`s ALL countries and people, who see these mad mullah`s and madrassa`s for what they really are.
I hope that all these places of `education` get closed down, regardless of the following claims from Aziz. Who does one trust? No one, it seems.
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/South_Asia/IG07Df01.html
ATol: Maulana Abdul Aziz has been arrested. Many people believe the way in which he was arrested does not match the actions of a person who preaches to others to sacrifice their lives for the cause.
``Aziz: This is all government propaganda. The night Maulana Abdul Aziz was arrested and brought to [state-run television] PTV, I had just finished a talk show and was on the way out with Ejazul Haq [minister for religious affairs] and the anchor of the program. I saw Maulana Aziz along with security officials. He hugged me, but only touched fingers when Ejaz tried to shake hands with him.
He immediately told me that he had been deceived. He said he was called by a senior official of an intelligence agency with whom he had been in touch for a long time. Since the official could not enter the mosque to meet him [to save his cover and identity] he asked Maulana Aziz to come to Aabpara police station [in walking distance of the mosque] and asked him to dress in a burqa to avoid being identified. [Aziz admitted that he and his brother Ghazi had done this many times before when they were declared wanted by the government]. But as soon as Maulana Aziz left the mosque he was arrested.``

Author,
You wrote, ``My nine year old brother believes that all the Bollywood action where a terrorist is always a Muslim is for real when he sees kids his age walking out of the Lal Masjid carrying guns and shooting at the policemen.``
Where did your borther see nine years old kids shooting at the policemen? Just curious.
Thanks.

Possible engine of the operation?
China supports Lal Masjid operation
BEIJING: China voiced support on Thursday for a crackdown on Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa where armed militants have exchanged gunfire with police and rangers. “As a friendly neighbour of Pakistan, China backs Pakistan’s measures to safeguard social stability and economic development,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang told reporters. “We hope Pakistan will ... severely punish the terrorists attacking Chinese people and organisations,” Public Security Minister Zhou Yongkang said, without directly referring to the kidnappings. afp

Was it Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi, who was prepared to marry a `sinful` female that the ninja`s kidnapped ?
Well, can someone pass on my Islamic offer.
Bissmilla...
I`m prepared to marry 4 ninja girls, as long as they are under 12 years old, and they give up the big danda for a smaller one.
I`m also prepared to accept the other 1,000+ females as ``what my right hand possesses``
(or is it left hand?).
Ameen.

The question to ask is who is the maker or breaker here, the wheeler and the dealer, the hand that holds all the strings, the atchitect of dramas like this one, who will rule us, who will leave, who will be in and who will be out and will stay out, who stays and who disappears, who lives and who dies, this nation has always been suckered into believing one thing or the other like cattle and deprived of life like cattle.
these buggers who masquerade as ulemas are ignoramuses, they have served their utility, used like condoms, they have been discredited in public eye, used like condoms; tomorow there will some one else who will play his part in another drama.
This episode like many others in our past call for serious introspection and reflection.

mushy is partly to blame for allowing the lal masjid mullahs to get away with so much for so long that it only emboldened them. that is what happens when you try to do or use anything/anyone to remain in power.
at least now i hope he eliminates all the Lal Masjid terrorists and then takes off his uniform.
i was thinking why don`t the paki commandos use the same tactics that the russian special forces used to rescue the kids from beslan using some kind of nerve gas?
