Islam and Budhism,
The budhist monks are getting shot at in Burma, in pakistan islamic leaders are sending teh suicide bombers, some as young as 12 year old.
I always wondered what would have been israeli reaction if the palestenians had a non-violent approach. If the palestenial children were to lie down on the roads blocking advancing tanks rather than throwing molotov cocktails, if unarmed crowds of palestenians had blockaded the army check points, if hundered of palestenians had tried to walk past the check points......
Israelis consider them selves to be morally superior....if they were denied the collateral damage theory of killing palestenians while hunting terrorists...what would have happened.
Well...well that is an impossibility..non-violence is anti islam when there is jihad in the books.
Just an absurd thought, a non-violent muslim movement would be a denial of teh core teaching of islam...jihad..kill...kill

#186 mafrejal: the Burmese took to the streets in September. Pakistanis were out on May 12, and shed more blood that one day than Burmese have done to date. So if anyone took an example from anyone else, guess who it would be?
In any case, hats off to all people fighting for democracy and against dictatorships - whether in Burma or in Pakistan. Unless you have sacrificed anything for the cause of democracy, you are hardly in a position to lecture either the Burmese or the Pakistanis.

Terms of surrender
from jang of today
PESHAWAR: Dozens of militants on Thursday thronged the streets of Mohmand agency and captured a number of Khassadar check-posts being vacated by the paramilitary security personnel there.
An eyewitness informed this scribe from Mohmand Agency by the telephone that the militants were seen making wall-chalking on public and private buildings on the main Peshawar-Bajuar road with writings, “hail Taliban movement in the agency” and “Tehreek-i-Taliban Zindabad” or long live Tehreek-i-Taliban and lions of Mohmand.
According to sources, the militants started their wall-chalking campaign from Mohmand Agency’s famous trade centre Gandhao town and stopped in Lakaro where a few weeks ago they had occupied a shrine of great freedom fighter and spiritual figure Hazrat Fazle Wahid popularly known as Haji Sahib Turangzai and its adjacent mosque.
The sources said the militants wrote slogans in support of the Taliban and Sharia even on security posts. Also, they said in some of the areas the militants accomplished their mission in the presence of paramilitary Khassadar force.
“Khassadar force peacefully vacated their posts in Gandhao and Lakaro after militants reached there. They first white washed their posts and then wrote slogans,” an eyewitness told The News. They said the militants did not even spare building of Tehsildar in Lakaro town where a large number of security personnel were present but did not show any resistance.
////////////////
Pakistan always maintained that there are 80,000 pak troops in the afghan border preventing the taliban from entering afghanistan. Now we know why it is not effective, they are secure in their barracks, step out only to surrender.
The sad fact is that there are people like Jaffri who are still proud of the despicable army and identifes himself as a colonel. More so the others on chowk who are not ashamed to say that they are pakistanis.

Post 194,
The scenario I envisage is that if there is another attack on the US possibly using nuclear materaial as promised by Osama, there will not be another phone call of the Collins type and India will be involved in routing the terrorists in pakistan.
This could happen any time, noting the way pak troops are surrendering, but is sure when the jihadis take over.

Kiddo,
Pakistan is already crippled by its own military
Twelve Corps Commanders and a COAS do not comprise the Pakistan military. Pakistan Army' slogan is "Jihad Fi Sabil-Illah". If you don't believe me, ask Sadna.
Sorry if that wet your dhoti, but it's the truth. That's why the military is refusing orders in Waziristan and going over to the other side, and the Corp Commanders only have tribal Jirgas to whom they're going running for peace deals to get their ass out of the fire.
Invasion will come in a decades time when pakistan has to be divied up to contain terror, when the beareded general takes over.
Ohh ... I don't think so at all. The war will be over much before then.
There can never be a prolonged period of civilian rule in pakistan. Just the access of AQ KHan to IAEA will be adequate to trigger the next coup.
So who do you think has the guts to allow anyone's access to AQ Khan? BB? You must be joking. Just the mention of that in some obscure meeting by BB has the Pakistanis up in arms and BB losing votes.
AQ Khan is owed favors by many ... First he enriched uranium for the 'Islamic Bomb' Vs the 'Hindoo Bomb' and the 'Yahudi Bomb', then marketed the technology on behalf of the generals to more 'Islamic' countries, making money for everyone in the process. No one can touch AQ Khan.
Pakistan will sink to the north korea status, already with high prices the poor cannot afford any food. Is it not the reason why people are flocking to madrassas.
Hahaha .... that's all I can say. :)
(GT, the smileys are just returning the courtesies)

Pakistan celebrates world tourism day - there is no end to pak pretensions as a normal country
from dawn of today
PESHAWAR : Tourism Day goes unnoticed due to security concerns
Bureau Report
PESHAWAR, Sept 27: Activities relating to the World Tourism Day, which is celebrated around the globe with fanfare each year, were limited to a one-hour seminar in the NWFP here on Thursday, despite 2007 being declared as the Visit Pakistan Year by the tourism ministry.
The law and order situation in parts of the NWFP, especially the Malakand region, and the ‘war on terrorism’ in the nearby Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) is the main hurdle in the development of the tourism industry, official sources said.
Tourism department officials said this year was the worst vis-a-vis tourism as no activity could be held to celebrate the World Tourism Day in the Malakand region and the Swat valley.
An official said: “We could not even put up a banner there. Holding an activity in a high-risk place like Swat nowadays is impossible.”

Masadi you have completely misread my post. Please read it again.
You say:
Zeemax's post does not refer to any concept of deterrence but elation at successful first use where the other side is stumped and defeated.
You know Pakistan is no match for India in terms of conventional weaponry and numerical strength. In 1965, the assault on Lahore was barely stopped at BRB canal by the outstanding bravery of some officers, while the tank advance on Sialkot was halted only because of the 'suicide bombers' (yes ... suicide bombers) of Pak army laying down under Indian tank tracks with explosives strapped on. Both these encounters were INSIDE Pakistan territory.
Now Pakistan has an easier way. If such an incursion now occurs, the sub-kiloton tactical warheads will be used to halt the conventional advance INSIDE Pakistan territory in a completely defensive posture, and thus fully justified. That would not provide India with any justification to retaliate with 'big bombs' because the other side using tactical nukes against enemy troops inside its own territory is not 'first use'. India could certainly use the same back in further aggression but firstly it doesn't have any, secondly all that would do is to turn that battle field into no man's land, and thirdly open the field needlessly for an exchange of mutually assured destruction with the biggies. I believe Indians are dumb but not THAT dumb.
On a side not(e?) only the hypocritical "morality" of a Mullah will permit use of nuclear deterrence where the widescale slaughter of innocents is held as a possibility. Islam does not allow it.
Arrey Bhai Masadi, where would innocents be in one square kilometer of enemy invaded territory inside Pakistan? I'm not talking about 'wide scale slaughter' of Indian civilians in India, but just the mass slaughter of invaders within a kilometer radius inside Pakistan. In such a 'tripwire' event, there won't be any 'innocents' around for miles.

In the current political scenario, India will not be able to invade pakistan. The trend now is coalition govt and so there would never be a consensus to start a invasion. I cannot even see india striking terror targets in pakistan. It would continue to pressure pak on this, but in reality it cannot.
#193 Posted by jayp on September 28, 2007 2:06:22 am
Zeemax,
Why should india invade pakistan, at most it can be strikes against terror targets which can be delivered by various means. Pakistan is already crippled by its own military, and that is a big achievement for india, like the collapse of the USSR.
In vasion will come in a decades time when pakistan has to be divied up to contain terror, when the beareded general takes over.

Another islamic con job
It has been said so many times that islam does not allow killing of innocents and now we all know who an innocent is, they are only muslims.
Here is another myth, quoted from masadi. He writes
//////////////////
"laddu writes "Let me know your views on killing of kafirs and idolators like me in your Islam??"
Not allowed except in self defense, only allowed when you attack first wanting to kill the Muslim, this is quite explicitly stated in the Quran, unless you choose to quote a verse whose context is chopped off...
?????????????????
See the careful use of the word " only allowed when you first attack muslim"...here we go again, there is the notion of muslim brotherhood, and if american troops are killing muslims in iraq, that is adequate to kill any americans. Or if the killers of muslims are christians, any christian is a fare game.
The general notion of self defense is quoted, but the meaning in islamic context per the book and as practiced is very different.

I honestly beleive something is brewing in pakistan. The current election may show some light. Silent people means, they may be building up a critical mass. It does look strange that general public have kept very quiet and watching the election drama. Are they upto something?

Pakistan, epicentre of global instability
Last Updated: 12:01am BST 27/09/2007
Simon Scott Plummer reviews Deception: Pakistan, the United States and the Global Nuclear Weapons Conspiracy by Adrian Levy and Catherine Scott Clark
Pakistan has a strong claim to be the most dangerous country in the world, or, as the authors of Deception more elegantly put it, "the epicentre of global instability". Tension with India has persisted since the British acceded to the partition of the jewel in their imperial crown in 1947. It has resulted in three wars, the last, in 1971, causing East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, to secede. And although talks have been held and confidence-building measures taken, the problem of Kashmir is still intractable.
Since its detonation of five devices in May 1998, Pakistan has been a recognised nuclear power. Earlier that month, India under a new Hindu nationalist government, had conducted a hot test, its first since 1974; Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistani prime minister, declared that a matching response was a matter of national survival.
After the response was made, one of the scientists, Samar Mubarakmand, said: "Our life expectancy is 122nd in the world; in literacy we are 162nd … Now in nuclear weapons we are seventh in the world." His remark illustrates perfectly Pakistan's inferiority complex as a nation which has failed in the basic task of development and is overawed by India.

Reality: The 9/11 hijackers didnt kill in the name of religon.
that's paki-reality...an alternate reality
in the real reality, when you have egyptians and algerians killing a bunch of americans because of america's support to israel, heck yes it's about religion..more specifically, the religion of peace..
prophet boy: what next? are you going to tell us that 4 british citizens of paki extraction didn't kill their fellow citizens because of religion?
apologists for the islamic terrorists like prophetboy, DM and FV are the bigger danger than the zeemaxs and echobooms..the former lot provides intellectual cover to the sense of victimhood that drives the islamofascists into committing acts of terrorism...
