Pakistan Call centres are doomed.
A true story from Australia .
"Beyond blue" is an organisation that supports people with depression. They have a help line in Australia, and to save costs the calls are answered from a company in pakistan.
Last week, one person called the line and said,
" Mate, Iam really down and out, I feel like committing suicide"
Prompt came the response
" what would like sir, do you like to drive a car, truck or a bus"...there was a long pause.." may be we will sned you a suicide vest"
The caller was shocked, and Beyond Blue has promptly cancelled the contract.

tahmed,
did you watch the show? .... i thought it was pretty good - even mrs hamidm thought it was funny ..... my 14 year old thought the language was kind of mild compared to what some really 'bad' teenagers use in real life ........
....... just to show you where i am coming from - i still think that 'married with children' was the greatest show ever produced by american television .... it shocked the middle-class snoot out of uppity suburban whites who think that their doo don't smell ! ...... one of my neighbours, a busybody named terri rakolta who is related to that mormon - mitt romeny - and who hadn't had sex since the eishenhower administration, tried to lead a boycott of this show .... thanks to her, the show's ratings soared ........
..... this show has the potential of being another hit like married with children....... even if it doesn't, it is sure to piss off both real muslims and good christians .... which is good enough for me !

#34 amansandhu: I am awed by your ability to know with 100% surety what "most pakistanis" think. We Pakistanis can only marvel at such perfect vision, coupled with the world's tallest moral pedestal on which indians stand!!

scout its ok for you to comment on Indians is it, I am 100% right though, most pakistanis will be uncomfortable with dark actor.

The opening line for this article must rank alongside the most hyperbolic statements ever on Chowk. As the Americans would say: Puh-lease!
This might be novel in the USA but on British TV Muslim faces have been prominent on mainstream TV for a few years now.

#28 Posted by scout_new on October 2, 2007 7:39:35 am
amansandhu,
you wouldn't know a tongue in cheek comment if it hit you over the head, bounced off the walls in your cubicle and exploded in front of you
