What a sorry excuse offered by dictators and their supporters to usurp the people's rights. The same sorry, dishonest excuse was given in the dictator's speech to his "friends in the West", saying its a long process and the best way for it is through dictatorship!. Listen fool, dictatorship destroys political institutions, it leads to corrupt officials that operate under the barrel of the gun and whatever the scale of their corruption they are still not at liberty to think of the entire country as their papa's property and its people as its slaves- that is the worst form of "corruption" and there is nothing "honest" about the sob you're defending...

Democracy is not a horse or a donkey that you can bring and hoist upon a pulpit to live happily ever after. Both the donkey and the pulpit have to be ready for it. Also unfortunately all of our democratic leaders when in power had ample opportunities to lead the nation on the right path which they failed miserably in their ineptness, corruption and graft, for which they should be the criminals of the people. If a chowkidar of a bank steals from his bank what would be his fate? Yet its a shame for us all that out of the 160 million people, the only persons many of us can only think of are to bring back the same old crooks. Better an honest illiterate 12 century fool than a literate 20th century educated thieving fool.

The only thing common between Musharraf and Chavez as far as politics goes is that one came to power via an illegal coup, on behalf of the Americans, the other was elected by the people and survived a coup orchestrated by the Americans

How sad that a nation of 150 million can not find anybody descent enough to respect the rule of law and order in governing the nation. Pakistanis are always left behind by these types, who are in the ruling elite. Musharraf is the biggest thug that Pakistan has ever known. His political mentor is Hugo Chavez, and both use the barrel of a gun to destroy their political opponents. The only difference is that Hugo is on the wrong side of the sole super power, and Musharraf is conveniently on the right side. US must get rid of this confused narcissist individual Musharraf. All kinds of sanctions must be installed starting with something like the Presslar Amendment.

The American "sense of outrage" was not because any democracy was derailed, when you handpick a future prime minister and hobnob with past dictators of all brands and fashions, that is not "democracy" you are protecting. The Americans are outraged because their peon has dared to go against their wishes and acted for his own benefit, much like the feudals dealing with their domestic help. The stupidity of the peon (Musharraf) thinking much like your stupid self that quoting Lincoln would calm down the US elite was due to his colonial education, the dimwit mindset that cannot think beyond the fifth grade and rote reproduction, and the mind of those that surround him. That is why anyone would be better than this fool as a leader. We don't need illiterate fools with less than a 12th century madrassa education for all real intents and purposes "leading" us.

The real question is not NS, BB or that kanjar Musharraf. Should Pakistan become a police state with ordinary citizens not even having any recourse if law enforcing agencies exploit them.
Purging your judicial system is not a thing which can e justfied by calling a Mr Musharraf a better or for that matter realistic option...

The government is supposed to get its authority from the people whose servant it is, and not the barrel of a damn gun or imperialists abroad. No sob has any right whatsoever to deny or cut off people's information or stop others from expressing their views. No sob has the right to tell the people what they should say and what they should think, and especially not the sob that has usurped power using the barrel of a gun and is treating its people like goats and pigs, soon the Americans will do a Zia ul Fcuk number on him and it will be no loss for us...

Notwithstanding the points of view of expat Pakis (though I too am one too), and despite the political incorrectness of propounding such ideas, actually unfortunately I'm afraid to say that Musharraf is the best man for this job at this time of point. Who do we have otherwise? Our Pakistani Bonnie and Clyde team of Ms Bhutto with her Mr. 10%? Or our very own Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid i.e Mr. Nawaz and Mr. Shahbaz? Or any of the other rascals who sit in our National or Provincial Assemblies? Maybe Mush has made some errors of judgement, however he is much cleaner and straighter than all of our so-called democracy loving thugs who only wish to loot and plunder the wealth of the nation some more, and who have no interests for the betterment of ordinary folks of the nation. Also a lot of Indi's like to pitch in some sly smart remarks here and there, but they must bear in mind that they (or their country) has a huge hand in the state of ascendency of the military in Paki politics, because every time a huge ten times larger unfriendly neighbor keeps clamoring of swallowing you whole, that much more would the smaller proponent resort to militaristic might. Clearly its utter stupidity on both sides, for despite boastful superiority even the bigger neighbor doesn't sit very pretty, since nukes are in the equation now, and there can be no winners when it comes to such destruciveness. So Indis could stop gloating, for despite a size ten times larger or thereabouts, they are only a sort of a stalemate for its much smaller neighbor. However such are merely childish promulgations, because in an ideal world, all neighbors ought to live together in peace, harmony and happiness.

You are intellectually corrupt to be wrting this crap on a public channel. Unity of command is flawed concept taught in NDC to goofs such as Musharraf and yourself. Do not propogate it to us. We know (at least people more educated than you) that unity of command is bull shit. Speration of powers is what we are looking for, i.e the judicary indpendent from the executive. Get an education!!!

All the ministers currently under Musharraf are certified thugs.And the biggest Thug of them all keeps forcing people to belive in some fantastical Pakistan which has actually improved since his arrival.That man actually has the gall to lie, and insist, to the whole miserable population, that there is no misery in the country.This year the prices of even such common commodities as onions and lentils have gone beyond the poor man's reach.Pakistan also had the worst case of load shedding this year; I came home to spend my vacations in this summer.With the electricity gone for atleast eight hours daily,often even more, i was actually wishing myself back in Saudi Arabia.Even if it meant i had to endure the humiliating abaya...it seemed better then dying of heat stroke.

The Law Minister tells a women (who is educated and working) that the fact she cannot afford to buy mediciens is the fault of the husband, father and her brthers. This guy the minister is a thug. I mean which world is he living in. If such are the guys in power, poor Mushy is a lame duck.
