Re: # 15
hello Nassah; Take BJKumar's advice , and take my words-sip a cup of Gaream Chai and sit tight. read a bit of history of humanity in the next few months. You will notice there is much more outside the tortured Ummah in world of Islam, Quran, and hadiths where you can learn a great deal to get over one's depression.
Wa Salaam.
Kamath

You screw with Pakistan sooner or later you get blasted, she thought she could rule Pakistan by taking orders from Washington and by doing Bush's bid by expediting this phony war on terror, two words for the stupid NEOCONS BLOW BACK, and yes blow back is a bitch...

I am pissed off more so because 140 of innocent people died the first time, and now 20 or so this time. Well, I guess you pay the price for following corrupt and immoral leaders, but this price seems a little too steep.

Nikhat, pay attention to Zeemax. He is one of chowk's greatest proponents of feminism - in your style! :)

#4 Nikhat

You speak lovingly of the Bhutto and her children. At the same time, you insult her husband.

Whose children do you think are those, anyway?!

Communal clashes rock Indian state

{Police are seeking to enforce a curfew
in the affected areas [EPA]

A curfew has been imposed in parts of the eastern Indian state of Orissa after a man was killed and 30 others injured in fighting between Hindus and Christians.

Continuing clashes since Monday also saw 14 churches and three Hindu temples damaged.

Naveen Patnaik, the state chief minister, said: "Enough police both from the state and the central reserve police force have been deployed in the affected towns and villages... to maintain order. The situation is under control."

Curfew is in force in three towns in central Orissa, with some 800 police deployed and more to follow, the police said.

Clashes

The fighting ignited on Monday when Christians put up a temporary arch to commemrate Christmas in Orissa's Kandhamal district where there has been continued tensions between the two sides.

Christians later attacked and injured a Hindu leader, known to resent Christian attempts to convert low-caste Hindus, police said.

During Tuesday and Wednesday, fighting and rioting continued sporadically, with Hindu temples and churches being set alight.

Government buildings and homes were also attacked.

The man who died was a Christian. No one has been arrested as yet.

A curfew on Wednesday night did not stop further small fights and stone throwing, although no injuries were reported.

Controversial conversions

Tensions had been high due to Christian missionaries finding the majority of their converts from "untouchable" Hindus - low caste Hindus who still face significant stigma.

Some hardline Hindus have accused Christian priests of bribing Dalits and poor tribespeople to convert.

Christian groups say that converts join Christianity willingly to remove themselves from the Hindu caste system. }

Kamath sahib -- I know I know -- it happens some of my best friends are also Muslims -- that's why I say that we Muslims are inborn barbarians -- unchanged from our ahad-e jahiliya to our ahad-e jihadiya.

Re: # 13 Salaam Nasah:
You say,"We Muslims are barbarians.Period..".
Nonsense ! It is not at all true. I, as a typical non_muslim, have known many Muslims friends and aquaintences alike. They are like anybody else. I am also very familiar with the history of Islamiat by reading and travel. There are good people and not so good people as you find in any society!

So control yourself and don't blame the whole society for the acts of few barbarians, buddy.

I am not trying to disrespect her. I have asked Dilawar to do what she asked him about. I think it will be a great thing if Dilawar can wirte a speech where he can express the thoughts & ideals of Democracy which BB had given her life for.

Re #8
This is time for mourning, Please. Even the enemies deserve some respect at death and this person lost her life for whatever she believed in ... she was not stupid to not know the risks facing her and no one goes into such hazardous mine land just for the pleasure of it. The callousness in such comments is shocking.
