He is admiring non political characters like the Taliban and making criminals elements of FATA as some kind of heroes that are fighting a legit war of independence. Namedropping does not make a good argument. The issue really is how much you understand the role of the army in Pakistani affairs. You clearly are attached to some romantic notions that playing card and bridge creates the coteries that go on to pillage a country dry ignoring all the facts about the economic and political interests of the army.

If those writers taught you that bridge playing coteries form the basis of fifty years of control of power and resources and not some common interest then you did not learn any thing from those books.

PS. How about you be more specific as to what your thoughts are about the role of the pak army and its officers class?

I am sorry you are making some hilarious assertions. Sir Zafarullah Khan was not even the Foreign minister of Pakistan when Pakistan signed SEATO. In general, no FM of Pakistan would dare sign any such thing w/o the army permission so what you said about him signing the agreement defies the logic also.
