Re: # 30 the problem is slightly different...there is no general animosity. If you look at the linguistic history, the telugu spoken in telangana is supposed to be the closest to the original telugu of the land. Well curently it is mixed with urdu....still ...
but what is at play here ...is the something more than just linguistic or regional chauvinism. to realise this you need to wander around telangana to see the unsaid or unsayable picture.
However, the key is the jobs scenario. The circar districts had more educational institutions meant for all then the old nizam districts where these institutions were resereved for the bastard sons and daughters of the nizams - like OU, Nizam's college, etc. As a result the telugus in telangana were not able to take up the jobs which required education and hence more remunerative. This can become a self-fulfilling prophecy, and takes some time to rectify. This is a major issue - and understable. That is why if you look around in the state, and in the surrounding states - you will find a prevalenceof naxalitism - Chattisgarh, Khammam, Warangal, Nalagonda ---steretching into orrissa (koraput, ganjam etc). If you look at the NREGS, the major problems are in the areas of Chattisgarh and Orrisa. AP has donet he right thing is the most efficient states - and in fact as a result of this naxal activity has reduced (a little perhaps). Most of the guys claiming to be naxalites are gangstersand hoodlums calling themselves this.

Irony,
I think ur partner is writing 4 u. OK. I got ur witty points. :) I know of a blind muni/sage. I must read further b4 I make comments on it.
The replica of Nagarjuna Konda is erected on Hussain Sagar and a huge Budhdha statue was also erected in the middle of Hussain Sagar. I agree Buddhism was the state religion in many kingdoms of Indian subcontinent.
What Venkat wrote needs futher research/reading for me to believe. (I agree with the tonsuring point).

VRV,
I have no faith in the concept of nation state or patriotism. I do not intend to be clanish or parochial.
Tags like Tamilian, Telugu don't evoke any special emotions in me. I am more proficient in Tamil than Telugu.
When people like Harimau indulge in wrongful and malice propoganda, I think facts needed to be placed on the sabhai.
I have no hatred towards Brahmins. I have lots of positive things to talk about them.

Brahmins hatred towards Telugus didn't start from Periyar's period, rather it started during Thirumalai Naicker's lifetime.
Brahmins didn't like the fact that he started respecting Christianity. They are believed to have killed Thirumalai Naicker by leading him into a underground passage and closing it from behind.

"Where the heck is the self-respect of Goltis? Instead of naming the new international airport at Hyderabad after Potti Sriramulu who fasted unto death demanding a separate Telugu-speaking state (yes, it took a Gandhian fast unto death before that idiot from UP Jwahirullah Nehru would concede the demand), the Congresswallahs of Goltland have declared that the airport would be named for Rajiv G@ndu
Even though i am a golt i cannot defend the golts from your charge. We are guilty as charged. It is not just one airport they named after Rajeev gandhi in the last 4 years. Perhaps you have not read about approximately 300 AP government schemes, buildings, stadiums etc named after Rajeev and Indira by this wretched congress government. Knowing the treatment that the current AP govt gave to late PM PVNR (a golt) and knowing how the current Andhra congress politicians celebrate Priyanka, Rahul, Sonia Gandhi's birthdays i can just hang my head in shame.

Re: # 32
I am not sure about animosity between the people of Andhra and Telnagana. I am from Andhra region and i have lot of friends from Telangana and i have never seen any kind of animosity. If the politicians like KCR are given much time and space in media, it will sure start raising up. He is a big time demagogue who raked up Telangana issue only after he was denied ministry by Naidu.

Venkat,
Thanx
SRK,

That's a tragedy that Congress uses ppls money for self-aggrandisement; it's not specific to AP. I hate such misuse of public money and trust.
Even BJP did it for the Golden Quadranagle road network. They exclusively spent more than 50 crores to put up Vajpayee hoardigs all along the roads. Every party misused public trust & Congress obviously takes the big cake.
Hari,
I think u can hate those gneissic rocks but that's exteremly unique to the region of Hyderabad. Unfortunately, there's a mindless, un-aesthtic treatment of such natural endowment.

"That's a tragedy that Congress uses ppls money for self-aggrandisement; it's not specific to AP. I hate such misuse of public money and trust."
It is not just about publicity for the projects they have completed, it is more about scoring brownie points with Sonia amma. Spending some money on publicity to make a point with the people is ok and is understandable. Even in US we see politicians hiring the PR managers to advertise their accomplishments. In the last 4 years they have named only one road after late PM PVNR. To score points with Sonia amma, the current AP CM even attributed economic reforms to Rajeev Gandhi completely ignoring the fact that it was PVNR who initiated them. I have seen many sycophant politicians not as shameless as YSR.

SRK & others,
I agree that Congress is AP is all suck-up.
++
I forgot it long ago but it came back haunting when I saw the TV debates (MNS saga in Bombay) 2day.
It happened long ago.
Hundreds of AP guys were roughed-up and their hall-tickests (for Railway, Bank exmas) were torn-up by Biharis & the boys were warned not to come back for future exams.
So this roughing-up of ppl is the very sign of our uncivilized intolerance - be it Bihar or Bombay.
