Given half the chance any Muslim - preacher or not - will help a non-Muslim revert back to the faith every human being is born with i.e. Islam. It has been made incumbunt upon all Muslims to convey at least one verse of Qura'n to the non-Muslims. It works. Take for example one of the brightest scholra of Qura'n in modern times Allam Muhammad Asad, who was born as Leopold Weiss in a Jewish family of long line of Rabbis in Germany - he decided to convert one day while he was commuting in a bus, drenched in his thoughts, pondering the meanings of the verses in one of the shortest chapter in Qura'n. The verses were:

The Eventide 103

"I swear by the time, Most surely man is in loss, Except those who believe and do good, and enjoin on each other truth, and enjoin on each other patience."

These three lines changed the life of a human being. So it is possible.

Totally absurd. Most muslims will convert to Islam anybody. They may not be preachers, but convert they will.

I dont agree here. The fastest growth has come after they have integrated into the global capitalistic economy.

I know you probably have a great admiration of MKG, JLN and the socialist bunch but please keep in mind that for all their (so-called) efforts, quality education and healthcare eludes the largest bulk of Indian population. Fields where many other developing countries in Asia including the likes of China, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Indonesia far far surpass India.

Please try to understand that my anger at our "great leaders" is out of frustration at their inability to put together institutions which cud meet people's legitimate aspirations. And their callous crippling of people's entrepreneurial energy which cud have shown a way out.

[Economic growth measured via GDP is meaningless if the masses are distributionally deprived, and lower growth when properly distributed and channeled into protection can result in a much larger standard of living for the masses.]
