"And of course, “last prophet” is on your list … even though, “right and wrong” of this notion remain “quite relative”.
You still haven't explained to those who lay wish to relocate to Rabwah, what is the difference between Mirzai, Ahmadi, and Qadiani.
Explain without stuttering.

"India / Pakistan has so much common heritage. Instad of looking at our differences, if we start looking for common ground and build on it, lot of current tensions would decrease.
Festivals like Basant can be promoted on both sides of the border, such things can act as common experience for the next generation. "
Ans: The universe is full of diversity. Why you need similar culture as a criteria to make friendship? You should love diversity. When you go to Brasil, enjoy SAMBA, learn to appreciate it. We do not need people of Brazil to learn Karnatic music and dance Kathakali and Bharatnatyam.
In India, there are at least 20 dominant cultures ( Marathi, Konkani, Punjabi, Sindhi, Rajpur, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Manipuri, Sikkim..., Telegu, Malaylam, Kannada, Tamil...

Ill treatment of minorities is the gist of this article.
Pakistan could improve on a number of fronts but especially
in this department.
Governments of a country have to represent all of is
inhabitants. I don't really care if some of them
are waiting for the second coming of the Tooth Fairy
or the Easter Bunny. People have to have RIGHTS.
If Ahmadis were declared non-Muslims, it was because
of a number of pressures. People like myself
who are not Ahmadi, came to accept the decision.
But why perpetuate their persecution?
Khaanay ko Roti nahin, Peenay to Saaf Pani Nahin,
Bijli Nahin....Pakistanis can't find anything
better to do then this continued emphasis on a small minority?

Like you I too could not help grinning for the quote-
“Consider the ummah carrying out suicide bombings. Is that peace, happiness, and success? Hmmm … one can only wonder about your faith …”
My favourite cartoon is the one where a row of suicide bombers floating on clouds and bellowing in smoke approach Osama–type person standing with his arms raised high and says--“stop, stop, we have run out of hoors”
There is a message some where I think.-Rashid

Urstruly (#328),
I couldn’t help grinning when I read your comment …
”He (God) loves the people who love Him and forgives their sins. He gives them peace, happiness, knowledge and success.”
Consider the ummah carrying out suicide bombings. Is that peace, happiness, and success? Hmmm … one can only wonder about your faith …

And of course, “last prophet” is on your list … even though, “right and wrong” of this notion remain “quite relative”.
BTW, you forgot to mention return of Issa. Ullema firmly believe that he will descend down to earth. Nothing wrong with such beliefs … but you should add it to your list to make it complete …
What's next? Cow worship? (grin)

Ananth07, the whole world has a common heritage. While acknolwedging that commonality, we must give people the freedom to be different. Basant, if Pakistanis wish to celebrate it as basant itself, or as something differnet, or not at all - should be upto them.

Tauheed sahib, my apologies for the intemperate words in #425. It won't happen again.

I do not have a solution. I believe that a solution can only start if a significant plurality of Pakistanis acknowledge the original mistake. I do not think it will happen in the foreseeable future.

Ans: Islam is genuine trouble maker, Gandhi should have realised that. The inherent barbarism associated with Islam, was sure to create trouble in India; whether you partition it or not. Pre-british period was the darkest age of India ( destruction of beautiful architecture, education system,...).
I am aware of the grave situation of Bangladesh now. People breed very fast due to lack of awareness and facility and are very poor. Middle east pours money and force them to stick to the mediaval barbarism. That make them more unfit to survive on their own. More dependency on middle east money... a vicious cycle fuelled by high crude oil price...It is pure arab slave and worse than Pakistan. They have started writing in arabic in public places ( like we do in English and regional language). Started naming the places with arabic words...
Yesterday, I was reading an article in Bengali news paper (Kolkata based). BD economy is so dependent on middle east money that, BD administration is forced to allow islamic terrorists to grow on their soil and operate in India. The trade off; Islamists will not carry out jihad in bordering and friendly states like Assam, WB, Tripura but act in UP, MP, Rajasthan etc...
If he was good, he should not have supported the first Jihad befire british left, the Moplah Jihad...

Nkg,
Gandhiji was an unusual, a rather unique personality. He believed, perhaps wrongly, in the essential goodness of the human heart.
Gandhiji has long been dead in India. He is not responsible for the false secularism – the “secularism” of appeasing every little whims of every little vote bank which Indian politicians have practiced since independence and which they continue to do today. That vote-bank politics of those folks is not much different from the faction-based politics the British played in their time.
The fools who believe that a “clean” separation of people along religious labels would have made India and Pakistan peaceful places to live in are idiots and morons. There are countless fault lines which are present in the subcontinent – any of which can still be taken advantage of by those who are sufficiently ambitious without a sufficiently strong conscience.
It has happened in Pakistan frequently and now it is happening in India, too.
Jinnah was an evil manipulator and a closet Islamist whose difference with the likes of the OBL would have been only superficial - because at the core he did not believe in the equality of the insaan. Any Pakistani who does not recognize that simple fact is a lying hypocrite.
Any Indian who likes that descpicable creature – if empowered – will lead to the same fate for India that has destroyed Pakistan so completely.

If some are RAW agents, then what does that make you and some of our compatriots agents of -- besides Allah?"
SLAVE of Allah is an honourable title and means: man of God (and not 'bonded labourer without any rights'). Let me clarify, I don't work for any agency except the Highest One! The fight is always between faith and disbelief, light and darkness, and these devils may belong to any religion. Its the 'totally commited' versus those who live with all options open 24/7 much like a 711 store.
These modern Cains continue to hit Abels even when the latter fall dead! THIS is the issue. And to say that CHOWK, at best, could shut itself down is not the answer. They've adopted this fatherless child and are busy with their day-time jobs, leaving the child to treat the TV as 'mom and dad'.
LUKE 6:43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
And finally, John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Regards.
