"females possess a natural talent - to be believed, even when they lie" ---- LOL hahahaha please don't believe that I am laughing at you, because I possess a natural talent to lie, so when you think I'm laughing I'm actually NOT ...man, that's a LOT of thinking to do.

What a comment!! that one deserves to be framed. bravo.
In the nearest language, it always works.

Interesting comments. lol...haha...this is a satire right? and the writer maintains the 'narrative voice' to be suspended through this form? maybe I read it all wrong, but to me it seemed like a critique of modern times, that are fancily not very modern...
maybe Picasso would understand this entirety of juxtaposition better than I.

Khalil sahib,
This is going to be a bit like a visit to the dentist, so hold on tight and await the drill ;).
- The title does not match the content. At all. First of all you are not hitched. You are aspiring to be hitched. And you are not a hiker. The title held some promise, but the article, though well written, does not really go anywhere.
- The title "A hitched hiker's guide" seems to offer up questions. What happened? Why did this married guy take off on a wild and crazy hitch hiking trip etc? etc?
- Several things about your article made me cringe. But those are personal differences. The religious leanings and the dua'e qunoot suna dain type stuff....the whole chadar and chaar dewari. That whole stuff reeks of the type of forced supression of our women folks, and is a solid reason why we lag behind the rest of the world (roughly 50% of our people are locked behind chadar and chaar dewari).
- It was amusing at first, that a little kid would want to be a dulha...but then it just bordered on some weird obsession. The mullah-ness (if I may be so bold), and the "all I want to do is get married", certainly makes one feel queasy. I guess in that world, the job of the woman is to cook, clean, and pop kids. I'm sorry, I am generalizing and attributing a whole bunch of things to you, the author, and please accept my advance apologies if what I express is not the case. In my defence, I'm merely recording my gut reaction, having read your article.
Please write more, so we can get past the one dimensional portrait painted thus far.

Females are growing up through generations of pampering, and expecting to be pampered as a ‘higher caste’ even in this day of empowerment, infidelity, and high divorce rates.
Divorce and remarriage should be recognised by the judiciary of todays world, as a consequence of a break-up in a relationship; it should not hold the husband alone responsible. Divorce rates are 40% in Mumbai today - encouraged by feminists no doubt - due to the empowerment of women and increased awareness of maintenance laws. Females possess a natural talent - to be believed, even when they lie, seeking to hurt their ex-husbands. This, coupled with deliberately biased laws make a deadly cocktail.
