OK, wrong choice of words. But you can call me a certified Bong Hindoo, I am OK with that.

Re: # 32; majumdar

the words you are looking for are "self-proclaimed" and not 'cerified'

can I refer to you as a "certified hindoo Bengali"?....somehow doesn't sound right, does it?

please don't go on with your 'dissection' of every word I write.....I find that unnecessary and quite frankly annoying

Cheema sahib,

(where did I get this "certificate" from?)

Didn't you certify yourself as a murtid?

#29 Akram, I do not interact often but follow yours for their clarity very eagerly. In one of the previous ones, I remember you had described stages of reaction from fundamentalists to any interrogation on Islam. An uncalled for ad hominem and bulleying was one when a fundamentalist finds himself short of arguments. Self-righteousness has nothing to do with it.

I still find them cheap and useless to interact with any such characters. I also wonder why discussion on Murad beg's article which pulled up Hinduism sharply did not get as vulgar and distasteful as anything where Islam is even referred remotely... like this article.

I'm not taking sides. Hinduists are as ridiculous as Islamists. It is the format and attitudes in discussion which differ. Wonder why!!!!

Re: # 27

No one has denied any 'documented' interacts; I stand by every word I ever wrote here...except of course if I retracted it openly...I am not sure what gave anyone the idea that I didn't mean what I said?!

As for the explanation...it was in response to the allegations of red-flagging and other stuff which has nothing whatsoever to do with me.

Regarding the authority and scholarship issue...I stand by that as well; I don't accept anyone here has either of the aforementioned to cast judgements....if they do, they'd be the biggest hypocrites themselves.

Just because I don't agree with someone's point of view or have a solid one myself, does not give anyone else the right to start throwing personal abuse at me, or anyone else who happens to share those views; the level of personal self-righteousness seems to be mindboggling amongst some individuals here.

Hope that clarifies it for good.

Dear Hasan Sahib. Your devoutness is commendable but the word fundimental has been badly corrupted. Fundimentally the founders of all faiths loved all humanity and the revisionists, who made religions hate each other, have hijacked the word fundamentilist.

I fear blind faith because it is the veil behind which many poor innocents are often persuaded to believe and do horrible things.

Murad

Now what can a man do if one denies 'documented' interacts at CHOWK?

Men can fool men but never get away from being answerable to God.

One day soon....

Re: # 21 & 25; majumdar

Thanks!......for the record, I had nothing to do with the aforementioned activities I am accused of....not my style

btw; where did I get this "certificate" from?!....if you are referring to anyone's opinion here at chowk on the subject, I don't accept their authority on such matters........or scholarship for that matter

Cheers

Tahir mian,

My limited point. Cheema sahib is a certified murtid but he does not go about denying other people the right to express their own.

Maj sahib, 'gentleman'!!?? It should be blasph-man!!

tahir sahib,

blasphemy has become all the rage in certain circles. Rushdie started it, and then it became very profitable indeed to disparage the "backwardness" of Islam and to struggle for re-inventing and re-interpreting the Quran, Irshad Manji style.

If Cheema sahib is doing that and lives in Australia, well, he will surely succeed financially, and may even be considered an islamic scholar ;)

Apart from the blasphemy though, what do you think of cheema sahib?

Notice the communist red-flagging me!

Can his name start with 'A' and then end with an 'A'; does he reside in a country whose name begins and ends with 'A'?

Hmmm...a...a...a...
