Still 70% of Afghan Pushton love General Zia / ML Nawaz. Without Pakistan's approval no political settlement can happen in Afghanistan, no matter how much backhand deals India tries with Northern alliance/ Karzai. Recent events in Pakistan are for time being and in a year or so will settle down. ANP/JUI/ML are very powerful in NWFP and as they have the government their they will ultimately settle down this issue. However, as Oil prices soar, while not having central asia and Iran gas pipeline Indian manufacturing cost will keep climbing up . as well as inflation rate, then we will see how will indians keep their GDP up! Soaring food and Oil prices will reduce buying power every passing month. Pakistan still will get huge investment from Arabs and China as things are settling down already.

It is true that we hate what Karzi said and government of Pakistan showed its disguist in proper way. It does not seem practical that anyone weather India or Afghanistan or even NATO will attack Pakistan. Its just too expensive and too dangerous. Full scale war with a country which has nukes can anhilate the whole region and no one will take that risk. Being said that lets put all this meaningless discussion aside and think what is good for our country. By the end of day Afghanistan is not our issue. Afghans have to solve it from inside their country. If we will get ourselves involved in other countries matter it will take away our time and energy from our own issues. So lets focus on our country and make it stronger. Refuse all NATO aid with thanks and ask them to use some other country for their supplies. Stop our citizens who are in the mind set of carrying weapon and meddling in Afghan issue. On the other hand as far as Kashmir is concerned, that is our strategic issue. I support full proxy war in Kashmir and give them short range missiles like Indians provided in Balochistan. If Indians use air force against Kashmiris then provide them stingers. Trust me Indians can not sustain a war with us. If 43000 dollar per person US economy can not afford to fight few millions, 1000 dollar making Indians will not be able to afford full scale war. A war in which they can not cross border or take land, otherwise you know what will happen. A by product will be that if India has a danger to get involve in full scale war with a nuclear armed country no one will invest in them. Thats what happen to them till 2006 when despite their good progress they got only mediocre foreign investment ( around 3 billion). As soon as Pakistan agreed to make LOC permanent their foriegn investment shot up to 10 billion and their GDP to 9.5 percent otherwise their GDP was mere 5 %. I would never give this opportunity to them without some thing solid in return.

What a pity Mr. Naqvi:
Not long ago Pakistan-the big brother tried everything in its power to make Afghanistan its hinterland for "strategic Depth ' of Pak Generals. Sent trained Jihadis and Talibanis. The little Frankenstein's monsters! Pakistan has been a epicentre of Terrorism! Now it is the blow back and payback times.
How come Pakistanis have sudenly become perfect world citizens abhoring terrorism etc!

Look, if I were Karzai and if the Pakistanis were harboring the Osama and his people were attacking my country from safe havens inside Pakistan, I would be mad at Pakistanis, too.
In the same vein, if I were a Pakistani and the Amrikkans were beating up the people in my border areas (even though I really have no control over them or the Amrikkans), I would be mad too.
Perhaps the analogy will help some Pakistanis understand why the Indians do not appreciate their "moral" support for the Kashmiri jihadis and Dawood Ibrahim!

That sums up the paki mind set. They have no idea abou the reality of their own country, they never admit poverty which by all accounts is worse than in india, on percentage basis.
The pakis think that their is a great country and that si why there is no attempt to imrove it. The pakis, with their head stuck in the book, cannot see anything outside.

Of course Majumdar bhai, which is why it is important to accept when you're in the wrong. Instead the dude goes on to berate Karzai when his own President is a US stooge.

One can only laugh at this. Pakis who had a puppet ruling them for 9 years (and every single ruler before him was a puppet too) are calling Karzai a puppet.

There is so much talk about the cause of paki jihadism, it is due to iraq, due to afghanistan blah blah and has nothing to do with the religious notion of jihad.
hello...why did the muslims do the 9/11. That preceded the iraq and afghnaistan.
Simple, jihad is about killing off the infidels...it is a religious mandate and teh muslims are driven by it with no regard to teh feasibility of doing it..simple.

Re: # 9 Nevertheless, Karzai is a puppet by any definition!

pakistan is a s much a US puppet as Afghanistan's Karzai. The army is dog catcher of USA and so are the politicians. After all who told mush to do the NRO .Pakistan has been doing business in name of Afghanistan as dog catcher of USA since 1979.That is the hard fact.Frankly what is the difference between karzai and gillani or musharraf ? Nil ! They are the same breed who can stand any amount of kicking .All are playing double games and its all about money .

Behind the scenes, Pakistani bureaucrats and intelligence agencies are playing a marvelous game. On one hand they have been successful in making these yahoo-americans believe that Pakistan is fighting a real battle against the Talibans, and on the other hand they have given ample room for the Talibs to re-organize themselves to fight a long, hard battle that will result in America being chastened and all of (poor, land-locked) Afghanistan eventually dependant on Pakistan for it's every need. If Pakistan stops wheat shipment for a week, Afghanis in Kabul are asking for Karzai's head. Pakistan has got American, European, Indian and Afghani balls in it's hands and with one gentle squeeze, it can make sweet music.
