Re: # 91 Masadi, I am thinking of starting a signature campaign (its on Unplugged). This signature campaign/petition is to get chowk staff to publish a piece authored by you - on your favourite topic.

I will be pleading with every one here to put their name to the petition. You should also actively canvas support.

This is to ask you to please support the petition on UP. The petition is requesting chowk Staff to make an editorial decision with regard to Masadi, and publish an article authored y him. They need not go into the trouble of
(a) editing the document - or proof reading it. he is pretty good himself, and can use the queen's english better then she can
(b) verifying the veracity of his authored piece: it is bound to be orginal material, with great insights into every thing under the sun

This way he will off your backs for some time. It will stop his abuse. And if in the near future you do decide to ban his ass from Chowk, you can do so without any qualms and guilt. You can sing the YMCA song to him.The Staff of Chowk can then staff him well and truly.

Please support this campaign, by saying "aye" on the UP thread dedicated for this. I will be sacrificing my quota of threads for this worthy effort.

bubba: there is a general unwillingness/inability (for philosophical or practical reasons) on part of chowk to make this a properly moderated site. i gave up trying years ago.

but lets not go after individuals. masadi has serious problems in what he writes (insulting, misrepresenting others views, and so forth). but so what? he is not the only one with whom one on chowk. some even more so than him.

while you may be in a position to cast the first stone, i for one certainly am not!!

I totally agree with hamid mian that masadi should be banned for ever. As an interactor, he creates disharmony, and goes beyond the bounds of plain decency. To get his point of view across, he uses foul languages, and that has been flagged by many. He constantly and continuously uses foul languages towards many interactors. This style of interaction is definitely against your interaction guidelines at chowk. Please do whatever is necessary to get rid of this interactor, so that most of us who come at the chowk can enjoy interacting on this site.

Masadi: So you admit that you red-flagged my post in order to get me banned by the Authorities! You can shut my voice, but you cannot shut off my Ideas!! A thousand years from now your own descendants would have forgotten you, and would be marching to this fighting song:

No tirade against the higher barbarians who dominate the global structure is "unwarranted", and Paracha's piece is not a "fact" piece, it is a satire based on gross exaggerations and stereotypical renditions befitting someone who has never been to Pakistan yet pontificates on our countries, like a typical redneck American. That paracha has decided to use their "facts" about the non existant woman and the "goats" and what not, tells us that the fool has lost his bearings and wishes to still "act" as a writer when he has totally lost it...

Mian, "work" is not as is defined by either the capitalist elite or their slaves: making things the surplus of which is extracted by the capitalist leaving you pennies to exist upon. This separation of life and work is what the capitalist pushed so that he could enslave you, take from you the best years of your life and own the rest of it through pushing their products that you made. For me work is more sacred, it is my life and I do not seperate the two. Just because I do not make a 5 penny trinket which another peon will sell for $5 to make money for the capitalist, does not mean I do not "work"- catch my drift fool...
