isn't the 'pack of beer' haram, Mr. kaptain? are you suggesting, in the face of sin, one is allowed such an exception?

beer, an interesting alternative...yeah, it solves the terrible and unforeseen event that (god, devil, and mankind forbid you should set your eyes on) i.e a woman.

By the way, wasn't that...
"tell the believing men to lower their gaze...."
from the book of all books? but this justification of beer, is profound. Really, it matches all the tricks.

You were going to get this beer with a man, right?....ah!..I see.
In the nearest language, it always works.

FYI, Tableeghis, as observed closely, don't demand any kind of alms, extension of charity.
Neither do they shun non-practising muslims this sinister way.

To believe, one has to experience anything, let alone Tableegh, quite intricately.
At least you would agree, no book can be judged by its cover.

Let alone Islam and Tableegh, whereby one is instructed firstly to cultivate in oneself the power of self-abstinence. One cannot deny a provocative and inviting virgin with a pack of beer but few can.
These few have learned the art.

Propagation of abstinence to others come quite later. First victory over oneself.

Just my two cents.

lol, you get the best of comments -- no fair!! the Batman comic line was the best, haha

The picture at the side of your new article, caught my eye, I couldn't help composing these lines:

I'm only allowed to write at the zeir-e-zameen of chalk, that's the underground, where I and women exist. [remember, we're not listed, as you quoted so efficiently not so long ago.]

see you there.

Paracha Sahib. Some experiences yove had. The parallel that comes to mind regarding Tablighis’ is that of bee and nectar. A bee only sucks on the flower where it will find juice.

Here is New York (and I guess elsewhere in the US as well) there is a similar group (traditionally known as the Bible Students “Taliban) but more commonly referred to as Jehovah’s witnesses (not considered Christians by other Christians because of their rejection of the Trinity). But unlike the Tablighis or the Talibs, the JWs have had a huge impact on the civil liberties and laws of the US. Although they go house to house preaching (like Tablighis) but they don’t force themselves upon you in public places. They just sit on a bench with their magazine (Watch Tower) and hope that someone will talk to them. They are a very interesting group of people.

There’s a book “The American Religion by Harold Bloom. A fascinating read about the role of religion (or modern American religion of the 19th century, e.g., Pentecostalism to Southern Baptism) on the US culture.

He shook his head, smiled, half-closed his eyes and said, "Allah aap koh hidayat dey aur …."

I interrupted: " … Aur aap koh aqal!"

Not bad, but the Batman comic line is the best one....

NFP, I used to go once to that 4th floor too, in those days I used to read Ayn Rand, and posted her quotations at the notice-board pretending it mattered to me. It was my first experience in an office-environment, they all said I was idealistic, young, to-be-corrupted. I fought for my internship there, got it by an essay I wrote passionately titled, "bloody hope." Fought for a child-hood friend to get that job as well. Won it for her.
A few years later, she left me, as friends often do, when you reach dead-ends, the bats crying off in the distant, an ozone layer with black pills -- Hejaab, Taliban has so many definitions. So does, Mysticism and Myth.

I think you will win, because I saw you there on that 4th floor, and I still see you here, the second time I've come.
I am no longer the same.

Independence.

The lips have turned black
like an art, we all hide
not just that woman in that scarf
we give it another name:
social life, decorum, propriety:
how do you do, Ma'am?

strange i thought I'd never feel friendship for the fourth floor, again.
In the nearest language, it always works.
