The United States is acting like a charged bull, the consequences of which can be horrendous!!!
#2 Posted by eyecontact on September 24, 2008 3:02:37 am
In this backdrop the US' end as a super power seems to be quite near!
#3 Posted by eyecontact on September 24, 2008 4:46:11 am
That we are also ourselves to be blamed partly for the situation is true!

Charged bull?... US has given you pakis 7 years... 7 long years to fix this... and paid you pakis handsomely for that too... but you pakis pocketed the money and never killed a damn talib - so what the heck are you talking about?
US has to take matters into their hands - they should have done this long time...

Dear mori, your view is simply distorted. It's just the army that has swallowed all the money and not the people of Pakistan!!!!!
#6 Posted by laddu on September 24, 2008 7:33:54 am
why are pakis clueless?
this is the job of that bald headed punju in order to get back to power...the AS NS war is now taking a real dirty turn.

that's the point - army got the money, so army has to do the job... but they are not doing their job, so US is stepping in...
Your allegation of "charged bull" is baseless - because this was not a spur of the moment action, this has been years in making and it's direct result of failure of your army to do what they are paid to do...
US does not want the pakiland to be used as a home base for taliban, nobody in world wants that... apparently "people of pakiland" don't want that either, or so you pakis are telling us... if that's the case - so I don't see the reason for whining and breast-beating about US actions...

so you understand the problem... your own army is stealing the blood money from your people - now what are you going to about it?...

No political government has so far been able to tighten the noose around the military establishment. That's not going to be easy as long as Amrica bahadur is patting it on the back!!

true but that's not the whole truth... military establishment reins supreme in pakiland because people of pakiland have always supported them... remember dancing in the street when mushy took over in 1999?... at that time, amrica bahadur actually opposed the take over... in fact, amrica bahadur went out of his way to keep mushy at a distance... until 9/11...
People of pakiland have been instrumental and complicit in keeping army in absolute power - all in name of islam and pakiland ideology... amrica bahadur has taken advantage of that situation to further its own agenda...

If that would have been the case, like Armitage said, US should have bombed Pakistan directly, without trying to involve Pakistan....

Dear mohar! u seem to be taking a rather simplistic view of amrica bahadur. Yes, a section of Pakistani society did support the arrival of Musharraf but only for holding elections within the given timeframe. As for Amrica, for God's sake, it never ever wanted democracy to take root in Pakistan or elsewhere for that matter!!!

"arrival" of Musharraf??? ha ha... was he some kind of prophet - he would "arrive" and hold elections and take you pakis to the promised land?... did any general in your history ever did that?...
What was the need for "arrival" of mushy, the saviour, pubh? the elections would have been held a couple of years down the road anyway... if a govt does not work, people have the right and power to vote it out - people should not handover their own right and power to tinpots like Mushy to "arrive" and fix it for them... if they do, then they can not realistically expect for democracy to take root...
this is the reason why democracy has not taken root in pakiland and never will...
Amrica bahadur has his faults(there is an element of truth to the label "great satan") - but the problems in pakiland is your own making, including lack of democracy.... amrica's role has been peripheral...

State of Pakistan is controlled and protected by three "A"s.
All mighty Allah, Mighty Amreica and (Tainati Fauz Fauz of America which British bahadur) Army.
Pakistan has has govt which is micromanaged by usa throgh economic strings and USA is god father, withstanding some grand standing done by Army against USA transgressing borders. Awam for all reasons think correctly past, present and future govts are puppent govts and they have to follow broad lines as suggested by usa. As poor man can not go on purchasing things unless Seth sahib gives food on Credit.Though I do not agree with Ustruely ( As he is revolutionary and will not hesitate to resort to violence) mostly but his saying of Continuation of East India Company rule is not wrong. Masadi is even better in characterization of these elite imperial forces. And Major. Pavo correctly calls army leadership hopeless bunch of visionless opportunists.
Terrorists have Mighty Allah on their side is their belief. Belief with Courage and courage with belief moves violent paeople and they get motivated. They have vision of Nizan E Mustafa... etc. Pakistani rulers are devoid of vision. The mercenary army lead by political class without vision have no hope. Like in history of roman empire at end and also after Alamgirs 30 years of fight in Maratha country both were visionless and lead to demise.
If civil leadership has vision like Lincoln and do nor want to loose they they should go for "real" fight and ready for sacrafice. If that tribal areas are not important they feel they can abandon. They they will get temporary relief. Just like mughal ceded top marathas and shortly after they began to call shots on behalf of Mughal emperoer Pakistani Taliban will finally do it.
America is not ready to sacrafice their men and Pakistan army is being used cannon fodder for last two years. Top leaqdership stiull has not arrived at decision where to cede tribal areas or restore authority.
Honestly there does not appear anybody at elected levels to have brains to plan and and strong wrist to carry out those plans. Misery will continue.

Behind the scenes there have been attempts to get free of the hold of the army but these have failed so far!
