Is that old vulture Syed Shah Geelani related to you? That b@stard writes to the Indian Airlines requesting for concessional fares (a privilege accorded to Indians over the age of 60), gets free treatment at India's best hospitals (the old coot got treated for prostrate cancer at Tata Hospital in Mumbai) and then cries for Azadi. Ingrates!!

geelani, welcome.

We look forward to learning more about the Muslim point of view, or the point of view of Muslims living in Kashmir Valley.

Its known for a long time that USA prefers the Third Option. An independent Kashmir which it can later crop up like Israel/Singapore/Taiwan.

Really? I wonder why it hasn't started dropping hellfires in Kashmir like it does to the tribals in FATA.

Ijaz bhai, nobody wants the third option (other than the Americans and a few crazies, as you might suggest).

Some pakistanis now do offer various third, fourth, and fifth options with full expectation that once India's grip on kashmir weakens, it will naturally fall into Pakistan's pocket over time.

Musharraf's options flowed from the CHAPPA of Alistair Lamb. With changes in commas and full stops, you could keep making more and more.
I do not understand what the grandson of TE Lawrence is up to.
There is only but one real option.

Sooner the duo (Omar and Mehbooba) reads the writing on the wall in Kashmir

Did you miss the writing on the wall next to that...in a much larger font: India isn't going to give up Indian Kashmir and there's nothing the "kashmiris" or pakis can do about it...so there..

And Geelani mian, it is easier to respect an Omar Abdullah or a Mehbooba Mufti, or even the old coot Geelani; at least they live in their homelands in the line of fire. You on the other hand sit far away from your homeland and feel it safer to wage Jihad to free Kashmir from India through your keyboard. Nobody respects that.

Separatists flay Zardari for Kashmir remarks

October 06, 2008 14:17 IST

Rejecting Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari's statement that Kashmiri militants are terrorists, separatist leaders in the Kashmir Valley said he was 'ignorant about the sub-continent's history'.

Dismissing Zardari's statement, mainstream Peoples' Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti said, "He is unaware about the ground situation in Kashmir."

The National Conference, however, preferred to go though the statement before any reaction.

Chairman of breakaway Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who did not hesitate to criticise the former President Parvez Musharraf for softening his stand on Kashmir issue, reacted sharply to Zardari's statement, in which he was quoted to have said that Kashmiri militants are terrorists and there was no threat to Pakistan from India.

He said until 1989, the Kashmir Valley people were peacefully fighting for their right to self determination since 1947, which did not get any response from the successive India governments despite the fact it (India) had accepted the United Nations resolutions passed on Kashmir issue.

"Kashmiris are not terrorists. They are freedom fighters," Geelani said, adding he wanted to remind the Pakistan president about the UN resolutions on Kashmir, which had been accepted by Pakistan.

He ridiculed his statement that India was never a threat to Pakistan. This, he said, shows how ignorant he was about the sub-continent's history.

He said the two neighbours had fought three wars since 1947 and it was due to India's intervention that Bangladesh, which was part of Pakistan, came into existence in 1971.

Former chairman of the moderate Hurriyat Conference and Shia leader Maulana Abbas Ansari termed Zardari's statement as irresponsible.

"Let him say what he want, as we have nothing to do with him and will continue our struggle," he underlined.

He said that Kashmiri youth, who were agitating for their right peacefully, were in fact forced to take up guns due to India's rigidity.

the ground situation in Kashmir.

The ground situation is that there are more indian bullets than "freedom fighters"..

and the ground situation is that India isn't going to give up indian kashmir..

and the ground situation is that you could get over it..or not..either way, indians don't care...

Mr.Geelani, You are sitting in Germany and yearn for "freedom" while you cannot say that it is only "freedom" from secular India (Hindu India) as you may call. But socalled Azad kashmir is FREE because it is under Muslim rule of Pure pakistan.
do you envisage what the seperation of Kahsmir will entail in India which has the second most biggest Muslim population in the world(more than pakistan). The indian Muslims will be psudhed into pakistan and there will be war and communal riots. may be pakistanies under Saudi caliphate may want this. But US will take out nukes of two countries and that is what this will entail you german.
Greatness lies NOT in never falling but in rising every time we fall.

Re: I respect your views and point of view, but the fact remains the right for self-determination is the birth right of every human being. Dear friend, I'd suggest you to read more about Kashmir history, facts not comments matter. One more thing that your comments smell colonial tendencies. Comments, they say, are free and facts sacred. I wish you had read about Kashmir.
