Applicable vice versa, "Hey, power is very addictive. Once you have tasted it, you never want to let it go."

Too bad your dreams did not come true.

inna lillahi wainna ilayhi rajiAAoon.
May Allah bless his soul and place him in the best levels of Janatul Firdous, ameen.
Such were the hardworking people who did not fear from the hardships of their given times and continued to progress with sincerity and being steadfast, mashaAllah.
As family your pride in his achievements is most certainly appreciable.

NKG,
I was only hinting at the rewrite of history that is going on in your country. I was just saying that Urdu was not the language of Muslims only. I used the lies about Urdu as just an example of the lies so many people grow up on.

Now you have your Hindi, congratulations! Try to make a movie in it that would actually earn some money.
Don't forget the literary giants like Dr. Rajindre Singh Bedi, Krishn Chandra, Prem Chand etc.

Urdu &hindi is said to have choli Daman ka saath .

Urdu is middle ground of Hindi +Pesian (turki Arabic )

Present Wartha laap bhassha is Hindi + Sanskrit

Secularist compromise on Hindusthani Boli ..

which rickshaw puller and dukandar understand and all u.p bihar m.p haryana kashmir in fact almost 2/3 of india.

This hindustani is ganga jumni tehzeeb / civilzation .(apart seprate from Indus civilization )

Bengali have there own language as Orissa Kannada Tamil Telugu Mallayalam Why should you replace or even like HINDI .Nothing surprising .

Tahmed32 Sir, Thank you.
It was a paper an American woman researcher at Harvard had written on the porgrom in Gujarat that got me interested in social/political scene in India.
One of the strangest things I found was this infatuation with skin color. They call Muslims and Pakistanis 'hybrids'.
In addition to Fair and Lovely creams, they now have something in the market called Afghan Snow or Kabul Snow, something like that. From the constant posts of BJ2 who calls the Father of our nation a racist, you can judge for yourself. And you are right Sir, what should we make of the tens of millions of our Punjabis, Sindhis, Urdu speakers and Baluch, who are dark skinned?

NKG moshai, that's not right. Like most other languages, Urdu too has great literature, its own beauties.

But India has so many other languages. In daily usage, in official capacity, people would obviously want to use and promote their own languages. And that is not a sanghi or anti-Urdu thing at all.

1safe...
Urdoooo is not natural language of India; neither it added any quality to the indian literature....urdoooisation have caused major downfall of quality of literature from UP,Bihar and MP...a place famous for epics, Kalidasa etc... now read Ikball's mule language (some persian, some kharboli)....

Re: # 55
BJ....
"For instance what is it that JLN lacked that Sardar Patel had?"
I will answer it. Patel lacked hunger for power, which bast*** JLN was born with...and what he (JLN) inherited from the birth place (UP)...

#61...Isafe...

Why India need to promote Urdoooo? It is baggage of medival invastion, which destroyed rich culture of Ganga valley...

Much before sanghis, Bengali intellectuals were much against this mediaval barbarism and its baggages...B C Chatterjee, R N Tagore etc...

Please accept my condolences on your uncle's demise. He was a good friend of my father who worked under him in Iran. Long time back I had the good fortune of meeting him and having dinner at his place in NWFP, don't remember too well but it was a long time back.

Have a nice day,

Masadi

1Safe #62 well said. actually i didnt realize pakistanis had a "lighter skin" than indians until i saw indian posters on chowk harping about it, like this accusation you just dealt with of pakistanis wanting to separate on account of skin color!! and panjabis are supposed to be fair in india, but dark in pakistan.

the interesting question then is - why this cultural gap? i think this has to do with the fact that south indians are very dark, and so see panjabis as "fair" in comparison.

amazing, the anthropological insghts one gains on chowk. :-)
