For Indians, who WORSHIP capitalists, feminists and the sooper natural, Ratan Tata is one of the most cunning and arrogant. We would be better off without ultra left politicians like Buddhu, and ultra right politicians like Modi ( btw, did anyone notice that the land was taken from an agricultural UNIVERSITY? Does education matter less than industry? )
Ratan is actually only a front for a reclusive wealthy man, of Irish origin, Pallon Mistry, who owns about 16% of Tata Sons wealth.

Veeresh...
Well written. This the beauty of democracy, we are enjoying after destruction of congress monopoly (rather Gandhi/Nehru family based autocracy). Every state chief minister is hero and have to do something for his state to survive. I will give Vajpayee govt., the credit, for bringing such healthy environment....
I wished, we got rid of Nehru and Indira Gandhi much earlier, may be in early 70s. That would have made India much better place now.

Thanks Veeresh for article. This new cheap car will add mobility to 100 of millions of Indians. ( others will do similar small cars in addition to Tata company) Just like Railways, telephones/cellular , computers and Televison changed world than any political or idealogical movement Tech revolutions are great changer, secular , peaceful ( some redundant industry destruction taks place) they change society in every aspect and leads to betterment of Billions of People.
Tata is good organization in sense they are enlightend Capitalists than just traders. They creat wealth in classic sense. Now pakistan is dominated by Traders mostly. They are good at buying and selling but they do not have patience and fortitude in general and putting money for manufacturering enterprising Capatalism is tragedy. They most due is great vlue addition in packing, and marketing and reaching customers.
Now I do not understand if Tata motor Company has not done good/ bad planning or misfortune in time sense in Buying Jaguar and landrover motor , English company of american co. Wonder due to losses in british unit of their they are punished in equity markets. On NYSE their equities have lost more than 75% of value. That is extremely distressiong for any company. That is opinion of Investment community. The great benefit of free market is to punish badly run and bad product producers and reward companies who are doing better.I wonder Tata Motor Company of India is in danger of vanishing. It is mystery why they picked up business which was not wanted by any body. Kindly comment.

Re: # 3
Please read on why the Tatas were favoured with a license - in the Nehruvian license raj - to mine for its steel plant - one of the MOST PROFITABLE in the whole world.
And about its famous brand of Tea, being produced from government owned land, usurped by the Tatas in the hills of Munnar.
And why the Tatas insist they will pay only a pittance for the hundreds of acres in Bengal that they claimed they need to produce a car.
A little knowledge may go a long way in dispelling myths.

I wonder why Govt of Bengal does not start industires , they can do better without exploitation. Bhutto SR did but by nature Pakistani man/ woman does not want to work if can. It is problem many think govt is for them to have job rather than doing job. It appears to me many times we do not work hard unless we are exploited. I worked in nongovt but we use to work hardly honestly even few hours. In morning I will always late and go to bathroom , then read newspaper and at 10:30 boss use to come as he had to take his wife for shopping so I will strat drama of working. Especially all us had not worked any time in life so by that it use to become very hard work and our tummies on fire.I use to help many who use ti feel guilty for no reason of not doing any real work. I use to say we should be paid 10 times but they do not pay and make drama of paying us adequately so we shall make drama of working. They do not pay good to please and make drama of they are paying well so we use to make drama of working. So we will leave to food as soon as boss laeves. Then we will eat and over eat. Then heat humidity of Karachi makes you sleepy so hurry and then under fan it takes one hour to dry sweat and loose sleepy mood. It is 2 clock. We use to take tea break and visit bathroom to put water on face and comb hair and with water on face I use to get ready to work like tiger. When you go back to work and start work lazy collegue will bring down and break my determination to some thing useful. One does not want to be outcasted as stupid who works makes depressed. We use to ring bell and drink water many times to break monotony of not doing nothing. Then it was 3 pm , one feels not doing any thing and making mistakes in hurry when in not mood. Now one our officer use to work hard, he use to remind how British officers use to make him work. Many times I use to get inspired to work but there are bad characters will say. When somebody asks to me why madani Sahib is not working and becoming burden on company. I use to tell I know our brillient boss is right nobody died of hard work but as cautious person I do not want to work why take risk and try, it better to do no work and safe. Basically many people like do not like work as some of us have not bodies deisgned to work hard.Like many of my friends moto is "Achha khana or Gana Sunana". Work should be relaxing place but its up to you.I do not like cricket but test match was fine as then we will not do any thing for next 5 days as even bosses expected. Finally we had good compromise at work place, we only worked for two hours perday some times. Any way My theory is desi man or woman is not desined like chinese or Japanies for work, these asians. Most of women use to work only for one hourday as they had all problems from house, husbands, children and what not. One industrious women use to fry Pakodas and samosa and give norishment to our bodies. Some women use to bring vegetables to cut. Only boss once got angry as that woman started to slice onion and eyes got in trouble. But then she made Kanda Pakodas for boss still was told never to this type of home work here in work place.many times women use to cry at work place and bosses are not nice were arrogent to tell them not to bring home problems here. I always use to tell boss is mean they can come to me and I am good listner. Any way I hate Capitalism and assembly work which makes you work as animal machine. I have heard slowly all people getting crazy and they expect human work for 8 to 10 hours daily. I have great feeling for workers on road digging trenches in Karachi. As soon as boss leaves they theow hammer and shovels and even in boiling sun goes to sleep in concrete pipe.
I have come to conclusion no point in hard working and taking chance with our own life, as if die due to work boss is not going to send cheque. So nothing is going change till we inbreed with mongol race who work hard by nature like china, vietnam, korea , etc.
Good day. Every body take it easy and happy.

Tata motors with the techinial assistance of FIAT morots have challenged Hyndai and Suzuki in hatchback segment. It is dominant in the market, specialy who want to for commercial purpose. NANO is supposed to serve Maruti800 segment of market + it should create a class of customers, who are Govt. employees. Recently GoI released new pay comission and that will definitely boost the small car segment. Major hitch in this story is infrastructure problem and soaring energy price. Govt. sould not subsidize petrol/diesel for private use. Most of the cities in India are facing with infrastructure problem. So, NANo may be good for African,South American countries or even some country side in India and South and East Asian countries, but not a good stuff for urban India. If Govt. forces, then it can be at most alternative of AutoRicksaws. BAJAJ will be the looser....Anyhow Nissan-BAJAJ is coming up with alternative...

veeresh:the mysterious Indian, claiming to be from the political component of one of India's Central Services, who got roaring drunk in 1st Class on Aeroflot on an overnight flight from Moscow to Delhi about 5 years ago, and let slip stuff about Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose which matched what old ex-INA soldiers in Japan and a shippie friend who spent time in a jail in Taiwan had told me - the secrets of the Gulag will come out when the snows melt there with global warming.
Why not complete it...the story I mean....you have left us hanging in the air....
(okay I know its all a part of your long intro to the grand conspiracy theory behind the Nano-WB-Fiasco....man...still)

10 years ago, for another magazine and on television, I predicted how the Tata Indica would change the face of the small car scene in India. It did.
Is it a compliement to Tata or you want appreciation from the crowd for your guessing (insightful, visionary) skills. :)

Veerish Bhai
Can you tell me how much money Ta Ta has ?
Revntly he donated 50 Million Dollars to Cornell universiy .Like most of tycoons so called 'nri 'or who knows what passport they carry .
Where do you think thay made there money... off the back of mill workers Jamshed pur Textile in bombay etc .
Why India needs Nano any way .
Isn't it NOT so much to help india BUT the rich (tata ) become richer and dnate another Million to Cornell .
If Nano is geared towards increased salary of Govt employees through recent generous pay commission(like ta ta not for poor )its not service is it
And the fuel situation with energy mostly coming through fuel ( hydro electric is pittence )
Reliance is nothing middle man bania between sui gas of Qatar and billion populated market of India .
Only person Nano helps is Middle East Fuel Market and TatA Getting away with being wirshipped as goddess laxmi /ganesh .
I feel sorry for indian who toil like animals building things which they never consume or enjoy

Re: # 10 I support Nano as it breaks hold of elites on monopoly of having 4 wheelers.
If you remember long time elites have monopoly on foreign travell. Only elites like bhuttos, jinnahs will go to England. But weith opening of usa even ordinary person can immigrate or marry pakistani woman in usa and mard Punjabi Munda can reach usa and and drive 4 wheeler.
Same nano will usher different perception. Now i agree it is better policy to deny things then opeople value them. Like cell phones everybody has so elites lost also mass produced things get cheap with time become part of average man's lanscape. As indian way is different way of planning is reverse so after many nanos they will start on road buildind not bad just different type management style IIT style not LUM type. Indians can come and look at american std built drivers dream highways.
Just like black leaders in usa criticised space program as waste, but now inovations have added entertainment to their life. Same way nano will lead to high ways . Indians have horseneed built carriage.
Economy is strange case beyond my understanding. But starving everybody is not solution and more rich spend by nano or television poor get jobs. Also not poor should not be punished to drive bycycles and as they way barrel of crude price coming down nano can help to spur price. We need to look at oil producers also they need money to buy good services. Presently is not good for poor contries like iran or super rich Ksa arabs , Russians this business of feast and famine due to oil pumping. They need stability and nano can give jump by adding new oil users.

Maybe Ratan could have got the blessings of thousands of hapless poor whose land was taken away, if he had simply 'donated' that 50 million to them, instead of the US of A.
This crazy man, who owns 1% of Tatasons, seems so enamoured by the west.
Notice the money he took away from Tata Steels profits ( shareholders ) to pay for a UK company!
Even Pallon Mistry, the wealthy reclusive ( a relative who he acts as a front for ), has taken IRISH citizenship!

Re: # 12 Parthaab babu... I Madanisahib is getting tired of your WHINING all time. If you have complaint is ok but all whining all time is not welcome.
first your are against women all time now most men are miserable without women around and hopefully other way also. You have become Elite/ local from Bengal always compaining against women and whining. Now women have no problems but you have real big problem. When I say big means real big problem. You need to figure out , i have mental problems but i control them. Control and controlis key.
Now do not mean to say you are not good, may be there are women worst than angry buffollows and just strike and demolish man.
Now I do not care that little dingi platform nano indians will drive on nonexisting road ways. Now you have problem with some "mistry". Now we know always there are poor and rich people so why so much to worry about. Now as said before poor need to be exploited and made work hard so they get food.
Now bengali women are good looking but little dark but that due to weather. They look soft and femanine and they do not become fat like buffollows like men and women north of Rahi Yar Khan as they age. Color is compensated by intelligence. Bengali's are intelligent over punjabis by miles and good for them. That is why we let you go and have B.Desh and happy. That is direct result of getting most protein from water/ fish. Also Benglai women speak soft almost in vowells like small punjabi child speaks before they get control on tongue. It appaers music to trained ears and very noticable.
Please do not complain all time against women and now mistry what will be next time. Sorry If I hurt your feeling but you are just getting too much complaing.
Have good night.

His first negociation was with punjab govt (Amrinder's govt. at that time),. Tata wanted free land, 5 years tax holiday and many other concessions which were working out to be too costly for Punjab, hence they refused to accept his contions and he then moved to WB. Badal had tried to revive the project again but Tata had already made a pact with Gujarat govt.

Re: # 20,19 Thanks for reminding still I am not mad. There is mean man called mr. Parthab ( #16) and mr. T they have "khunnas" about me. Now Mr. Parthaab has some problem as said earlier like original sin.... Woman. Then now new problem is mr. Tata and some body called mistry. He has some disorder and he feels every woman is ready to attack men folk and they are just after alimony and children grabbing etc and Mr. Tata is after his Wallet.
Now if you looked at my post i was in praise nof bengali people and women folk there. I said good about them. They are more cultured and have good features and said good word about language as it emphasizes "soft tones". I also said with age they still look nice like cows while north of Rahim yar Khan they appear healthy robust as buffollows. Also said bengli language is not profane language like punjabi where people think something is wrong unless you start with abuse specially friend you are seeing after few years. Now Punjabis are earthy people even to Hindustani's from India in Karachi.I also mentioned they have little more cerebral activity compared to Punjabi munda. Fish , water protein is reason.
If Parthaab does not want Tata why not ask him to come to Karachi and take over Pakistan Steel mill for start followed by Nano Plant in Hub Industrial estate,We are short of power ask him to develop power plant.( tata company provide electricty to indian railways and that huge network runs, almost 70% of tracks are electrified) .Give him 10,000 acres of land free and let us ask Mr. Zardari to inaugurate nano and let start rolling and give all punjabi Mundas a platform to roam best subcontinents highways. Sure this will be better than movie imports.May be ask him to put our rail system on electric locomotives. If we can lure him to Karachi will be far better than all money we are going to pocket by Pick pocketting Americans. It is better to learn building building nano , and running of power plant, steel plant and energising power traction lines for railways than leaning and perfecting pickpocketting which becomes first habit , then it becomes character and then destiny. ( I feel we are good in trading, like cement agents and distributors make two times money than producers. This is likepick pocketting . Whilt tata type exploiting is good he makes people to put labor and make goods and services. Pakistan need not traders but people who make). I think Bengali hate tata 200% as bangla desh rejected Tatas proposal to invest highest amount in its history. They get afraid he will stop their political circle discussions and make them work. Bengali intelluctual class feels working hard is unjust and below dignity. Most are not hard working but they are intelluctual too much analysis leading no action paralysis. It is consider in intelluctuals to drink tee coffee and smoking is most productive and they consider virtue as poverty .
Any way I will ask Parthaab to excuse me and forgive me.
It is better to just not trouble othewrs. Good day. Hope not to trouble anyboody much.

Ahmedmadani:- please consider writing a bok, nowdays they give away Man Nooker prizes for funny reports on the darkness . . .
parthaab:- Why only the Tatas, why not the rest of them, and by that I mean those who were given the keys in 1947?
Dasg-dot:- Just this that the Indian Government knows exactly what happened to Netaji after he escaped from Taipei.
Shah2:- The Nano has atleast 6 engine options on date, and most of them work against the liquid petro fuel lobbies. So your hyptothesis does not hold good. What the Nano will do is to change the way people look at small cars. I think. Whether economies worldwide are ready for this, I don't know.
Salim Chauhan:- Thank you, various.

Ahmedmadani sahib,
Well written as usual, sir, there is no one quite like you on chowk.
They get afraid he will stop their political circle discussions and make them work.
You are absolutely correct. The Bong hates working and that is why I guess they support Commies in India. Partha babu is wrong about Tatas taking away the farmers land (as he is on most things), it was the GoWB which took the land away and now that the Tatas are gone, the land is not going to return to the farmers still.
I support Nano as it breaks hold of elites on monopoly of having 4 wheelers
Correct again. And that it will clog the roads is no fault of the Nano. India must invest on roads, not scuttle the Nano.
Regards
PS: I dont think you are mad at all, it is the people who are launching personal attacks on you who need to see Dr. Sohail asap.

Thanks Veeresh/Majumdar/Salim for writing article and commenting.. Greatness of Mr. Tata lies in catching and popularising idea middle to lower class Indian family can aspire to have freedom of movement. The idea was similar to pc. Hopefully hundreds of millions Indians can have freedom of movement. Only future will tell if his company was successful or others will be successful but history will note that this man seeded the idea of "people's car.
Computers changed not economics of India real change happened they understood and were happy they can be somebody in world market. Great psycological boost same way a family man can stand on earth and open door of car for new experience for family. He can have same joy as only few wealthy families have. It can be said mr.Ford Sr similary thought and gave mobility to American nation, Tata will do same. One can say very very wealthy world class rich man demolishing rich people's elite dreams of ownership of 4 wheel vehicle.
It is very clear technical advances when they reach mass production and access for masses to new technology have more significantly impact on social , political, economic, sexual( like introduction of family control ways) psycological( new drugs for depression )( social, political and economical effects are too obvious). The key is mass production of tech, producrts and rational prices for large number of people. These technologists are dreamer and they start some little things as Herbingers of coming future. For this such men and women should be respected.
I will ask Parthaa to forgive me what I wrote was imprudent and in anger. At my age there shuold be sublimation in actions and reactions as we are over hump and should listen more.
I will ask Parthaa to listen to music and be happy.

Re: # 23
Veeresh, The history of the Tatas and their recent transformation, might well be forgotten in our country of WORSHIPPERS - of industrialists, feminists and the soopernatural ( not necessarily in that order ).
Pls explain your question "Why only the Tatas, why not the rest of them, and by that I mean those who were given the keys in 1947?"
As for those here, who suspect my True love for the Nano, I do proclaim that I do NOT hold anything against the small car. But its the blatantly arrogant method of it being made, that raises such a stink, considering India is now a democracy, unlike in the times of JNehru.
AM, I can understand those are just your own opinions. You are hence excused ;)

Majumder,Viresh.....
Bongs hate to work, so they are against Tata Nano project in Bengal!!!!
The first automobile factory in India was established at Hooghly district, some 40/50 KM away from proposed Tata Nano site. HM was doing roaring business for more than 50 years....
Population denstity of Indian cities are so high, it will tax nature extreamly, if we come up with such kind of vehicles like Tata Nano. For building infrastructure, we need some land. GoWB is not finding land to widen NH34....In current situation, is not possible to allocate land in South Bengal, specialy in East Midnapur-Hooghly-Howrah-East Burdwan belt...
GoWB offered Tata 3 alternate sites to Tatas. Tatas were very much adamant on Singur. CPI(M), desparate to bring tata, agreed on Singur, fully knowing that some farmers may not like the idea. A cultivable land, with history of more than 1000 years of agriculture, can not make away for a factory, people do not know, how many years it will survive....

Veeresh, forget about the Nano, why should farmers have to sacrifice their little for cheap cars? I'd rather hear more about Netaji and the Gulag.

Nb di, Nkg moshai, Others,
The fault was not of Tatas but of GoWB for acquring land forcefully and without due compensation.
Nkg moshai, WB became an industrial wasteland long before Nano- in the 1960s due to the strike culture and militant unionism sponsored by the Commies. Now whose fault was that? Did the Bong themselves vote in the Coomies or did outsiders impose Commies on WB?

Majumder....
Please don't see everything evil from this CPI(M) Govt.During Congress Govt. work culture was equally bad....
NB...
Frankly speaking, most of the farmers in WB have very small land holding. For them, earning from land is at most 25000/PA. That is just enough to feed and school education for their children. Now a days, higher eductaion is quite expensive and you need some extra income (other than farm income) for that...
People of Singur were offerred almost twice the market price. Some people relied on Mamta to put pressure on GoWB, such that last couple of farmers get much bigger amount. Now Tatas left, Mamta have prey heavy price in Singur. Praying namaz on roads will not work.....
I am pretty sure, next time I visit my village, I will try to influence TC workers, to shift their loyalty....
Majumder/NB...
For natural reason, personaly, I feel, there should not be any large industry in naturally irrigated areas like Singur. I was surprised, why Tatas have not accepted the offer in Kharagpur or Burdwan....
I will say Ratan Tata should have been little more modest while dealing with Mamta Banerjee. Banking too much on CPI(M)....He should not have avoided referrening to Mamata, while unveiling the first NANO in New Delhi auto show...

#22 ahmedmadani {"If Parthaab does not want Tata why not ask him to come to Karachi and take over Pakistan Steel mill for start followed by Nano Plant in Hub Industrial estate"}
Madani Sahib,
While you have a great idea for producing the Nano in Karachi, I must disagree with the actual implementation details. You see, the Nano is a miniature vehicle - you can consider it a lawn mower with small seats to envelope the scrawny posteriors of swarthy aborigines. Most of the skilled workers in Karachi are gigantic Pathans with big clumsy hands that cannot possibly squeeze into the small, narrow, and congested areas to tighten the little screws. That is the main reason why Tata considered producing this toy in Calcutta. Sorry!
Sincerely,
Salim Ahmed Chauhan

Ratan Tata has rendered a great service to the nation, and I think like all Tatas, acted for public good though he lost considerable time and money in the process. He could have compromised as politicians, right and left, were expecting him to do. Loss of Mamata Banerjis vote market will serve her and other of her ilk a lesson.
I hope that some other politicians who pander to vote banks and not to public welfare like Mayawati, Thakres etc will also take a lesson. It was already visible when Mayawati backtracked on railways coach factory land in Rai-Bareily when famers's land etc.. etc.. backfired on her.

Just curiosity about Bengal custom and ethos so some body can answer without btwists.
What is equivalent to Babu for females.
Is babu attached to name is complimentary or derogatory.
Great indian patriot Mr. Bose is refered many times "Desh Gaurav SubhasBabu", defenitely not derogetory. While mr. Basu or Buddhadev etc are never referred with tail of Babu.
Are brother or relatives any time refered with Babu.
If correct in maharata state when man reaches and show qualities he becomes Rao. IS Babu used only when you have done something out standing ? It is absolutely not clear. Or first indian president as refered as RajPrasad Babu , sure was honarory attached kitab.
Language is strange only some times person in depth understands.
Here Babu is equivalent to lazy Kachheri going person and who never answers except I do not know and is always busy in something except office work.
Babu= NaukarShah is literal meaning here
Good day.

They are. Mr Jyoti Basu is called Jyoti babu, Mr. BB is referred to as Buddha Babu

Now I feel there may not be female babu term. This term may have (?) have started with british East India establishment in Culcutta. At that time british would not employ females. The babu term appaers to be related to office job for british officers adding prestige. Or Babu term derived from "Bhadralok".
Di may be more related to"JI" or Haji haji of central proviences. Even today like peole will refer to mrs Madam Soniyaji Gandhiji as " Madam Soniyaji".
Other than Bengal Babu and Babugiri are derogatory term it appaers.

In years gone past, if you went to any middle class restaurant in the South and said "Babu Rao", then if not the manager then at least the senior waiter would respond to the call.
Somehow "Babu" became "baboo" and that became a nickname.
"Doctor babu" is a term used for all doctors, regardless of gender.
"Babushka" is used in Russia also, as a term of endearment?
One school of thought has it that the term "London Bobby" was also derived from the Indian "babu".

Deal is out: Win-win for Tata, Gujarat
TIMES NEWS NETWORK November11, 2008
Gandhinagar/ Ahmedabad: If this is the deal, it is a win-win situation for both Tatas and Gujarat. A loan of Rs 9,570 crore and that too at an amazingly soft 0.1% simple rate of interest. That’s the big sweetener along with other carrots that the Gujarat government is understood to have doled out to draw Tata’s Nano project to Gujarat.
This, as per a document circulating in Sachivalay on Monday which the Modi administration refused to either confirm or deny was authentic. The government has denied the information sought under the Right to Information Act to the media.
If the document is official, it is a deviation from Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s hard stance on sops. But then look at it another way. Tatas need only Rs 2,900 crore for setting up the Nano plant, including the relocation cost of Rs 700 crores. The remaining Rs 6,670 crore will be spent on infrastructure development, including roads and rail, gas pipelines, effluent treatment plant, electricity, water and all that goes in the name of providing infrastructure to the Nano plant.
This infrastructure will be of use not only to Nano but to fuel the CM’s vision of turning Gujarat into a global auto hub, as more players follow the Nano trail from Singur to Sanand. It is just that Modi is picking up the bill first and Ratan Tata is paying back in easy instalments spread over 20 years. The document is believed to have been put before the Cabinet for approval. Just to give an idea about the size of the loan, it would be a quarter of Gujarat government’s annual budget of Rs 40,000 crore. Tatas have got their share too. They get a 100% exemption on electricity duty in addition to a concessional power tariff. The 1,100 acre land comes highly subsidised without any stamp duty, registration and transfer charges. The payment for land would be made in eight equal annual instalments at a compound interest of 8% per annum.
THE DEAL
Tata wants only Rs 2,900 cr for Nano plant
Infrastructure cost of Rs 6,670 cr also billed to Tatas
Repayment of Rs 9,570 cr loan @ 0.1% over 20 years
THE SWEETNERS
100% exemption on electricity duty
Concessional power tariff
1,100 acre land comes cheap
No stamp duty, registration and transfer charges
Payment for land in 8 equal annual instalments
How the Nano deal is structured
Gandhinagar/ Ahmedabad:
The soft loan of Rs 9,570 crore that the Gujarat government has offered to Tatas will have to be repaid by them in 20 years but the repayment schedule will be linked to the VAT outgo on production capacity of 2.5 lakh cars in first phase.
For first four years, Tatas will have to repay the state government at 200% of the gross VAT payments per month. Estimates are that Tatas will have to pay an annual VAT of Rs 375 crore to the government based on its declared phase one annual capacity of 2.5 lakh cars. This means, the company will have to pay three times this amount or Rs 1,125 crore to the government as its loan repayment for the first four years.
Thereafter, repayments will reduce to 150% of its VAT payment till the state government recovers 150% of the proposed Rs 2,900-crore investment that Tatas will put up in phase one. This repayment will further come down to 100% of the VAT payment over the following years.
Various infrastructure facilities to be provided by the state government to Tatas include construction of a two or four-lane road connecting the project site, construction of a natural gas pipeline to the site, a 200-kva power supply, a 14,000-cubic metre per day water at the project site as well as facilities for waste disposal.
The state government has also promised to provide facilities for development of a ‘Tansportnagar’ on a publicprivate partnership for loading/unloading, lodging and boarding and other facilities in addition to providing 100 acres of land near Ahmedabad for a township at a later stage.
The leak of details of the sops being offered to Tatas, which has been a closely guarded secret, is understood to have set off a scramble within the CMO to find out how the document got leaked. The note was prepared by state industries department on the basis of the MoU with Tatas to get it approved by the Cabinet.
Info on Nano project denied under RTI
Note that the land is fertile land, belonging to the Anand Agricultural UNIVERSITY, is TOTALLY FREE OF COST.
