i don't understand why someone needs to flag this article, it wasn't offensive, i actually found it rather funny, i loved your use of puns... i was thoroughly entertained, thanks for alleviating my boredom :)
i said i\'d never compromise with the mystery tramp but now i realize, he ain\'t selling any alibis, as i look into the vacuum of his eyes and say \'do you want to make a deal?\'

Dash_Dot,
Shit, man! Somebody really has flagged the article. The chap even flagged jang's post about Slumdog Millionaire! Somebody obviously doesn't want advances in sanitary technology to take place. :P
And thanks for liking it, man.

@jang
Yup, heard about it. It's apparently creating quite a buzz among the goras.

BTW there is a new (hollywood) movie out about a Slumdog .. boy from mumbai slums who becomes a finalist for Anil Kapoor show millionaire..there is a scene where the protaginist at the age of 7 is locked inside an outhouse style potty in a slum and there is a movie star landing in a helicopte..so the kid jumps thru the hole to go meet the star covered with shyte..check it out.

/(which involve sending water INSIDE your body) and a simple butt-wash! /
Ah! But the force of the water, sir, would surely have penetrated something.

Shoaib dear, a good effort!
Using water in the toilet – with or without a jet spray, is a novelty only in the West. I personally think that the so-called “Indian style toilets work quite well, provided one does not skimp on water usage, and one uses Hawai chappals and washes one's feet afterwards. Using such toilets is also healthier for the joints – so most Indians are able to squat easily into many Yoga positions, much easier than the commode-only crowd can.
Because of reasons I do not understand but which are probably related to their colder climates, Westerners minimize contact with water in the toilet – keeping it as dry as possible. When desi crowd spills water merrily, many Westerners are horrified.
Since the topic is supposed to be humor, I would have kept the politics out of this piece and merely built up more to the storyline. The dig on Gandhiji was unwarranted and did not add anything to its value. It also shows your inability to make a distinction between enemas (which involve sending water INSIDE your body) and a simple butt-wash! :)
Sincerely,
BJ Kumar

@jang
That sounds terrible.
But why in the world would you flag it? With India losing the most number of lives to Diarrhoea in the world surely you don't find a educative article about sanitation facilities in India offensive?
All I'm doing is helping my country.

Cobra: You South Indian types need "jets" by the train tracks..us sun of the soil Punjabi types do "Gheesi".

This article was funny, but I wish it was a bit longer. You have a good way of describing the prosaic, and it's a pleasure to come across a real pun ("washing hands of the matter" was pretty funny)rather than the garbage that Saleem Chauhan manages to serve up.

if you find inappropriate topic, crude language which bother sensitive sensibilities, then you flag the post. then you get punished, and spanked.

@Cobra
Yes, essentially it is a Bidet.
But then a Bidet and a "jet" are used for somewhat different functions.
In effect, if you have a jet here you don't need toilet paper. Enough said, I think. :P
@jang
Thanks, Jang.
"i gotta flag this one..."
I'm kinda new to Chowk. What does "flagging" an article mean?

cobra yar, you gotta experience the jet..its nothing like the bidet..comparing a bidet to jet is like comparing chanel #5 to a kannouji chameli ka ittar .. its a totally different experience.
