See below the link for news about more toy recalls in Canada, but still no mention of phthalates. I have sent letter to Health Ministry and after their initial acknowledgment of receipt of query, still waiting for response.

I wish Laddu, NKG, and JayP a VERY HAPPY ISLAMIC NEW YEAR (1430 Hijrah).

C'mon, don't cry; the world belongs to the righteous (not the self-righteous)!

#3, and the rest.
Quin.
Good piece. :)
Well, I am with you on whatever you wrote.

-----------
Jayp,
You should behave for a second, kid. Keep your anti-Pak politics and paraniod thoughts to cuurent affairs section.

And if you don't stop, you know what I will do, remember?
I will really turn you into a barking dog. And that too, of a common breed. Consult BJ and the rest of your lot for more information.

Don't forget. I am best at magic!
-----------
tahir,
I say: get a hold over this stupid mini boy. He is polluting this community like Maruti Suzukis are pulloting India.

Do your best, ok? :)

"Are you gone out of your mind???"

No, that's the effect of drinking a 'creepy chemical'!

:)

Re: # 8 Jay Pee

My brotherly advice is to learn immediately to learn how to write the word THE; you always write it as TEH.

Is your India crime-free? Look how your government refuses to see the perpetrators of the Mumbai killings; it is bent upon taking its dhoti off to the West.

The Untidy Satans are attemtping to cause a war which will only benefit the arms industry. Look at Iraq, Afghanistan and now Pakistan! Stop reading newpapers or watching too much TV; only then will you wake up to the bitter truth!

Satan deceives; so say all of God's revealed books! Mankind is being deceived into believing what is not true.

The 'badmuash' from another locality must be booted out of this region forever. The neighbours really don't need to fight.

Allah hafiz.

Re: # 8: Cast related violence and hate crimes in India of Mahatma Ghandhi, the carrier of banner of अहिंसा (Ahimsa)non-violence, the reclaimer of सतयागरह (satyagarah) non-violent resistance, see wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caste-related_violence_in_India

One can fill the whole website from the newspaper about India's horrible state. What you are doing here J does not cut through at all.

And why are you spewing your venom discussing an article which has nothig to do with politics? Are you gone out of your mind???

British woman laments capital police attitude
Monday, December 29, 2008
by Shakeel Anjum

Islamabad

A Pakistan-origin British woman, Maria Aslam Ali, Sunday told ‘The News’ that she was deprived of her cash, gold ornaments and other valuables to the tune of Rs1.5 million during her one-month stay with her mother in Islamabad.

She said that thieves broke into her mother’s house when she and her mother left the house for shopping at 4.30p.m. on December 16 for shopping and on return found things scattered as thieves taken away valuables including cash and gold ornaments.

“I dreamt to come to my country but the humiliating attitude of the Islamabad Police had shattered my confidence on it, she said.

“I am leaving for UK today with bad impression about Islamabad Police because they are involved in crimes and protecting the gangsters, Maria Aslam Ali alleged.

from jang of today.

The poor woman should be honour killed. This is insult to the TNT land, to sharia, to teh paki police.

Re: # 5 Jay Pee-in-the-pants
"chowk should stick with paki bashing"

And that's why I say ChowQ policy is made by rotten eggs who've said good-bye to India.

Go away and take Laddu and NKG with you too.

Re: # 5, Chowk has many sections ranging from politics, art and culture to environment and society.

Do yourself a favour and click on the 'Article' tab to see all the categories Chowk entertains.

Readers like you who feel challenged by any material beyond their comprehension are the reason for limiting scope of a publication. I did not showed the complete saying of Moa, which continued to say that "...if only the frog will jump out of the well he will see that sky is very different from what it looks from the bottom of the well."

And the paranoid you show, Jay, about Pakistanis is just laughable. Get over it and get some life.

Re: # 3

Each publication specialises in a topic as it has editors who are comeptant in reviewing it.

Chowk has non of that capacity in the context of chemical polution and hence should not publish such crap as this article, just because the author has a pakistani sounding name or at best is a pakistani known to the editors.

chowk should stick with paki bashing.

Those who don't know and want to be informed: India is proudly now the world's biggest diabetes infested country. It has the highest ratio of population in the world with diabetes, pre-diabetes or at risk people.

Moreover, India will soon top as the world's worst polluter. With its mini-car-project it is going to play havoc with GHGs. Stupidity has no bounds.

Those who have difficulty understanding the dangers of unbridled use of chemicals just revisit the Bhopal tragedy.

With the ignorance displayed like in comments 1 & 2, what hope one can have for India.

The comments 1 & 2 reminded me of two quotes. One from Mark Twain and other from Mao Tse-Tung.

"It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. Mark Twain.

"A frog at the bottom of the well thinks the sky is only as big as the top of the well." Mao Tse-Tung

No wonder sub-continent is such a mess.

#1. It is not a writer who makes the decision to publish or not. It is job of an editor. If you want to limit Chowk articles to stupid discussions of crazy nationalism and crazier religiosity only, and don’t want to know about anything else in the world go talk to the editors. I will write what I think is important for people to know.

The European Nations and USA must be paranoid too for banning the use of these chemicals. So if all the world seems to be paranoid to you, then something must be wrong with your eye-sight. Go get it checked.

#2, Your hatred and bigotry is so obvious—and you guys blame Muslims for it—that you pick up a topic totally unrelated to the sh.. in your brain and you start hurling your filth all around. Go get your brain checked.

Mutaal,

Take it easy, living is bad for your health. After avoiding all these in life, what kind of life will you have.

Can I atleast take a print of your article and eat it, which according to you can be healthy.

Stick with interesting topic, do not down grade chowk into a health and paranoid page.
