"the correct answer is 1950 when Objective resolution was passed".
that may be your view. I don't know about what most Pakistanis thinking on this. maybe the state was dead on arrival in that sense.

No I don't think so. But keep dreaming, and don't complain if turns into a nightmare.

(shut down all the mosques except for friday prayers and open up all the liquor shops and opium thekas that existed in the seventies )
I second opening of all liquor shops, opium or charas thekas were never closed as for the closing of the mosque well that maybe a problem for my dear mother can forgive my merry ways but challenging her beliefs.. that is a big no no.
The great Libyan leader Muammer Qaddafi does not allow men in his country to grow facial hair beyond a certain limit, any individual found flouting the rule is apprehended and his facial hair shaved by the state.

Not is possible and nothing is impossible. The world will live with and adjust to the new reality.
The days of holding the world to ransom are long gone. The Amerikans have called the bluff, the world is saying they are tired and will allow the country to go its way. Banjara286 your argument is not that very credible. The alternatives are just as nice as the present. Dont you think so?

Way to go "friendly neighbours"!
What a perfect timing!
Anyway. We will see its backlash as well, I know.
P.S: I salute those martyred policemen who gave their lives to defend the Lankans. And I am sick of Pakistani media since it's still practising "good values" of journalism, quite unlike "neighbourly" media channels.
Shame on you all:
Geo Sheo Meo!
Express 24/7 Can't EXPRESS.
DAWN is waiting for a piece of Sun.
AAJ is sticking to AAJ, not going for a substantial past.
And to them...
CNN is once again, busy in Indi-marketing! (my foot!)
BBC - God, you have lost galore, my love!
All Indian channels suck! (bastards)

I kinda agree with all the Pakis in the land of the pure and here on Chowk that the Indians did it. I am hoping that the Indians finally got the fking gumption to do it.
The Sri Lankans, they deserve it for going to the land of the pure!!! They should have learnt a lesson when other teams pulled.
I am hoping that Pakis and Indians now start round 2 and hope it is a the final round where all Pakis get to enjoy the virgins and unfortunately for the Indians, they will get reincarnated and have to start from scratch. No worries - there wont be Pakis around to spoil it this time

bismillah mian,
... don't be so despondent! ..... this mess can be cleaned up in six months if someone gets serious about it ....... they have to start off with hama style operations to level places like muridke, mansoora, zardari palace and raiwind farms ....... then they have to publically hang folks like hafiz hussain, hameed gul, imran khan, maulana fazloo and anyone else who sports a beard and/or shaves his pubic hair ...... next, they have to shut down all the mosques except for friday prayers and open up all the liquor shops and opium thekas that existed in the seventies ......
.... it is really quite easy; i don't know if kiyani is man enough to do it .....

Its not a desire but a concern and yes it may appear to be taking forever and I will be the winner if I am proven wrong. When we talk about natural demise of a state it means the state formed in 1947, a state which was created for all of its inhabitants to live in peace and the right to determine their fate.

bubba mian,
... the answer is 'no' and i still think they should let my people go .....you have to learn to delink these issues! .....
...... hosni mubarak has been able to put a lid on the moslem brotherhoodand so has king mohammad of morocco; it can be done in pakistan too ...... we just need kiyani to step up to the plate and start by hanging terrorist supporters like imran khan and trouble makers like zardari and the pehalwan brothers .......

"don't you think that the process is a a slow and steady process rather than precipitous. At least this process gives ample warning and allows various parties to take the required decisions (for or against) in order to safe guard their own perceived interests".
A credible argument against the "demise" of Pakistan is the probable shape of things if such a thing happened. Don't wish for something you cannot handle if happened. You might get it.

nb: Doing quite well, thanks. Except on days like these when I start to despair...
re. Regards #52:
"Difficult to imagine an Indian 20 year old, as most of the mumbai gang was, who will coldly kill so many without flinching. Probably they are so hardened that it seems all so easy to them."
This is actually true, IMHO. Let alone Indians-- it's difficult to imagine 20 year olds of ANY culture/nationality who would kill so many undisputed innocents so unflinchingly. Sure, there are the oddball Columbine-copycat artists in the US, but then, they're not driven by any ideological zeal.
On the other hand, I wonder how different the mindset of these kids are from, say, some US troops in Vietnam who killed obviously innocent folks there. In fact, almost every army has exhibited this behaviour, Geneva convention nothwithstanding. hmm... maybe we need to view these actions in THAT kinda context if we are to begin to understand these murderers.
I know, I know... I'm rambling. To be honest, I'm grappling with the apparent insanity of an attack such as this one, made all the more incomprehensible coming on heels of the ceasefire between the jihadis and the government.

"A case of both, how unfortunate, every act of terrorism brings state of Pakistan closer to its natural demise".
rf86 sb,
Don't you think this "natural" demise is taking for ever? Maybe this is just wishful thinking on your part.
