[I think much of Michael Jackson’s influence in Pakistan came via Bollywood].....
Sir
I don't accept this opinion, my friends and I are the live examples of MJ's lovers who don't watch Indian movies. Indian movies have got nothing to do with MJ.
MJ was famous even in remote parts of Pakistan where they don't even know the name bollywood.....
MJ was an industry himself, the whole world was his fan....he rules the planet...there is no question of any influence...

shoaib_daniyal I haven't really upgraded MJ to the stature of the Beatles. I read the stats; Thriller sold more copies than any of the Beatles album. :S There are a few more comparisons as well. Even Presley's realm wasn't this way. :S It may contradict with Presley and Beatles' fans but records go this way.

Elvis and Beatles are not even close to My Love, MJ. There can never be another MJ and never will be.
MJ was a Universe of music and was another Einstein....

I grew up adoring Michael Jackson. I was always in love with him and his music, I still remember dancing with Billy Jean with my school friends almost every day.
Billy Jean and thriller electrifies my soul and heart, I can't help loving MJ.
I still can't believe MJ is dead.....I have been crying and I am heart broken, my love is gone forever....
My soul is tarnished with his death, I was planning to go his last concert in london ,but, alas.....
I have been listening to MJ non stop....and my tears are also non stop....I am missing him...

He became a phenomenon as great as Elvis Presley and the Beatles
Maybe he became as popular as the Beatles but let's not upgrade that to 'great' just cos he's dead.

Yes, nb. But the point is this : a young man like MJ should bring notice to the biased healthcare funding in the western world. It is said that prostrate cancer gets half the money as breast cancer ( due to half the publicity that feminists get ).
As for MJ, he was purely a money spinner for all the females in his life. His ex-wife now wants all his money - PROVING, THAT TO THE 'MODERN' MONEY-MINDED WOMAN, THE BEST HUSBAND IS THE DEAD ONE.
WAKE UP MALES! SPEAK UP!

So, parthaab, your point is that MJ didn't have the money to look after himself better? Okay.

MJs death should bring the focus on the poor health care funding for males in the androphobic US of A, resulting in their earlier deaths, as compared to females.

I think much of Michael Jackson’s influence in Pakistan came via Bollywood. The choreographers in Mumbai acknowledge that the big, elaborate moves, fashions and dances were all “borrowed” from Michael Jackson's videos and concerts.
Famous Bollywood choreographer Farah Khan put it well when told reporters, “I officially had no training in dance and whatever I learned was by watching Michael Jackson’s videos, especially `Thriller` over and over again. I consider him as my ‘guru’. He was the real reason why I wanted to become a choreographer. What I am today is because I saw his video ‘Thriller’. It was at that moment that I wanted to take up dancing as a profession”.

Here's what happened: Billy Mays was annoyed that Ed McMahon was going to donate his liver to Farrah Fawcett, so Billy killed Ed and Farrah died when she could not get Ed's liver. Michael Jackson was outraged, he sent a Demirol pie to Billy but ate a slice to see if it worked, well it did work so Michael passed away and Billy died a couple of days later when he ate the Demirol pie. Phew!

I am deeply saddened by the death of the most unique talent the world has seen in pop music. Michael Jackson was one of the greatest music icons of the 20th Century. A true star who will never be forgotten. There will never be another Michael Jackson. He was the consumate performer and talented in ways that we have not seen since. His appeal crossed over racial lines. His influence on R&B and Pop will live forever. Thriller is one of a kind. MTV would not be what it is today if it were not for Michael. He was a music legend, an American icon, and a talented Black man. MJ loved so many in his life and was loved by all who heard his music, saw his dancing & acting, or heard him share his heart. Such great loss to so many. Such great loss for us all. Funny thing about Billie Jean...as a kid, I never really knew what it was about. I distinctly remember hearing it as an adult and having an “ah hah!” moment when I realised the underlying theme. I don’t know that I have ever been so shocked to hear of a celebrity’s death. Madonna, a fellow pop icon, said: “The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever!” He ruled entire globe through his music. Rest in Peace MJ. You will forever be an icon of music and culture. Jackson was a brilliant talent, and left behind some of the greatest pop music ever made. He was exceptional, artistic and original. He gave the world his heart and soul through his music. God Bless him.
