Pablo...
Early great directors like Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen etc. inspired next generation of directors like A GopalKrishnan...But then,Govt.'s (Ministry of Culture) role in promoting movies taken back seat....
And you see the 3rd grade actors and script writers ( Javed) hogging the lime light....

may I know who flagged my post and why (other than typos and disorganised writing)?
BHS75...
Akshay Kumar has the ability of not to "act" and that is his greatest asset in comedy movies....
The Sharukh Khan may be hero of unwashed masses, but his copying of Jim Carrey and overacting does not sell to connoisseur of good movies...But then, we are living in time, where you hardly get any quality art, or people looking for it...Movies are like manufactured product ( now a days), which is generaly driven by what audience wants rather than to carry a message to the audience....
This is the same lady, who given good rating to New York....

Gone are the days of the Apu trilogy. When you have you to have launching ceremony from books to films, what can be expected? Apart from some honourable exceptions, the Bollywood has always been a sort of a mujra you could watch with the family. Nowadays, even not that.

This, whatever you may say, now a days, the Mumbai Urdoo/Hindi movie industry is getting matured...
I have like couple of the recent films, though they are copies from Italian and French movies...
At least, the next generation of script writers ( after Salim and Javed) expanding the vision of copying from non-english movies, specialy from Europe...
Regional movies like Bengali, Marathi,Tamil and Malayalum movie industry used to produce decent movies...
It is impossible to produce good quality movie, without good literature...at least, that Satyajit Ray said....

What do you expect from this moronic film industry?
Egotistical, idiotic stars, moronic, hapless, pompous, clueless directors, who have no conception of artistic credibility or originality, vulgar conceptions of life, idiocy and infantilism.
This is the NORM for this idiotic 'Bollywood' industry, and its stupid moron star system.
Only a handful of genuinely talented directors rise above this cretins parade, people like Anurag Kashyap and Dibankar Bannerjee and Vishal Bhardwaj. There are some others. Hopefully there is a movement brewing against the mainstream moron parade that star led system of Bollywood is. Until then, apart from this handful of directors, expect every movie that comes out of Bombay cinema to be idiotic and cretinous and infantile and an insult to your intelligence.

kareena is ugly and much more hyped that she deserves. She gave some good film with good performance but otherwise she's a so so actress.
